Bills Sign TE Andrew George

The Buffalo Bills announced that they have signed rookie free agent tight end Andrew George.

Georgie (6-4, 251) played his college ball at BYU, where he caught 70 passes for 827 yards and 11 touchdowns, and earned second-team All-Mountain West Conference as a senior.

Signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent in April, the Panthers waived George when their off-season workouts concluded on June 17.

The Bills have gone through tight ends the way Spinal Tap went through drummers.

On Monday, the Bills signed free agent tight end J.P. Foschi, who is wearing the #88 that had been worn by tight end Michael Matthews, who was "waived/injured". Tight end Joe Klopfenstein is on injured reserve, Shawn Nelson is suspended to the start the regular season for violating the league's substance abuse policy, and Derek Schouman is sidelined with an injury.
