With Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions blacked out locally, Buffalo Bills hoping to get a glimpse of linebacker Shawne Merriman won't see him in action at Ralph Wilson Stadium, either, as head coach Chan Gailey has ruled Merriman out with a minor leg injury.

Merriman injured his right leg on Wednesday, ten minutes into his first practice with his new team. Merriman did not practice with the team today.

The Bills had claimed Merriman off waivers last week from the San Diego Chargers, who had placed the former first-round pick on injured reserve with a calf/Achilles injury.
