Week Nine Gut Reactions

  • Eerily similar to the NFC Championship game.
  • The bigger the moment, the smaller Bob Sanders gets
  • This was a game the Packers would have taken if Favre was still the quarterback - Rodgers stared down his receivers constantly and held the ball too long on several occasions - don't get me wrong - Rodgers was more than solid - his inexperience just showed at times. Good learning experience if he takes it on board
  • Ryan Grant - if you need five yards, he'll get you six. If you need eight yards, he'll get you six.
  • Brandon Jackson needs to get the ball more
  • How many interceptions were dropped today? At least three by my count, two of which were guys taking the ball away from their own man. Gotta talk to each other guys...
  • Atari Bigby looked veeeerrrryyy rusty today
  • Why in the name of Ahmad Carroll was Tramon Williams playing so far off on the Titans final drive in regulation?
  • Kudos to Daryn Colledge, filling in for Chad Clifton. Amazing job
  • Sitton - not so much
  • Nick Barnett is beyond pedestrian at this point - he's a liability
  • Hate having to wait a week for another game - gotta get this bad taste out of my mouth

Well, that concludes maybe the worst sports week-end of my life. Good thing I'm still good looking or I might just have to end it all. I thought the game was way too similar to the NFC championship as well. We should have won this game. It's funny what you say about Barnett. I was going to post the same. I think it was about 3 games ago that I posted I thought something was wrong. I'm convinced now. Did I mention we should have won this game?

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue

While I agree the defense left several plays on the field today, I have to put this loss on the offense. The D held Tennessee to only 16 points in regulation. That should be enough to win EVERY week. Our offense is better than 16 points. Anytime your kicker has two field goals less than 25 yards, you know you left points out there. Rodgers didn't play his best game, nor his worst. They've got to punch it in at a higher rate if they want to make the playoffs. Today's loss coupled with the Bear's win makes next week must for Green Bay.

I thought if we won this game we could legitimately think about 11-5. I believe 10-6 is probably the best we can hope for now. That might still be good enough for the division. Orton got hurt for the Bears today but I can't find much about the details

Seems to me like consistency is a huge part of the problem. We just can't keep it going and quite frankly we stink in the red zone.

We have got to stop running on first down so that we are not predictible on third down. We only converted 40% of our third downs. Probably because they were all long so the Titans just teed up.

For the bad taste, try burboun. Always seems to change the taste. Although I was just in New Orleans and I must say the 32 oz mudslide daquiri would do a good job too.

i think that justin harrell showed up and played well coming off the pup list. he had a batted pass and stuff chris johnson in the backfield for a loss on a 3rd down draw play
