I think he's a great fit as a 3-4 DE and a clear upgrade for the Packers.

Wasn't drafted by the Packers + Starting caliber player = Will not be signed by the Packers.

Simple math.

Next signing will be Raji.
Then EDS.
Then Neal.
Then Quarless.
Then 2 or 3 backup/special team no names.
Then Jolly.
Then Kuhn.
Then Pickett.

The order may not be right, but you get the idea...

I've said it before and I'll say it again - If the Packers have a new starter (offense or defense) who wasn't on the roster last year it'll be a rookie.

Let's test out this new thumbs down feature...

WTF, -25 and he's still lurking. Dammit!

Houston would be my #1 choice if we went after a "high profile" guy. He would more than fill the void left by Cullen Jenkins. Highly versatile for a 300 pounder. Even played some stand up OLB if I'm not mistaken. Won't have eye popping sasck numbers, but plays his butt off and disrupts the pocket. Very strong against the run as well. Would love if this rumor had legs.

What the hell is Reggie doing in Oakland anyway? He's got a ton of money and letting guys like Veldheer and Houston hit the market is nuts. They have enough holes to fill without losing what few solid players they DO have. Strange. But if we can snag Houston, our gain.

As often happens, we forget the player has to want to stay. Considering the overall situation in Oakland right now, that's likely a hard sell all on its own.

Lamar Houston, Arthur Jones, either one would be a huge upgrade.

1 more day and counting. Gonna be fun. Going crow hunting tomorrow.

COW's picture

Man, you're going to be SSSSSSOOOOOOOOOO disappointed.

4thand1's picture

So you like crow. Tell what you despise and I'll cram it down your throat.

So how many days (weeks?) into free agency (without a Packer signing) is it going to be before you say... "Damn, Cow - you were right."?

4thand1's picture

HA! didn't even start and they signed Shields. Welllll, he was a free agent. You lost already, another round for me. 60-0.

COW's picture

My bad - I thought you were arguing that TT was going to do something different this offseason.

He always signs his own guys.

COW's picture

Just for the record... what did you mean by "crow-hunting"?

Did someone post a response predicting that TT would sign any of his own guys?

Gregg Jennings, Scott Wells, Jenkins. 61-0

Pete Dougherty has tweeted that Houston's agent said GB has not called him about Houston.
