Report: Gene Steratore's Crew to Officiate Packers-Cowboys Playoff Game
According to FootballZebras.com:
Referee for Cowboys at Packers: Gene Steratore http://t.co/Zq0jEJgexm
— Football Zebras (@footballzebras) January 6, 2015
"Gene Steratore is the referee, who is in his 12th year and 9th as referee," writes the website's Ben Austro. "This is his 8th postseason assignment, including 2 Wild Card Playoffs, 4 Divisional Playoffs, and 2 Conference Championships."
Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com reports that the Cowboys are 1-3 in games officiated by Steratore since 2010, but their lone win came earlier this season in Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints.
The most recent playoff game officiated by Steratore was last year's NFC Championship game between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.

Gene Steratore is the best referee in the NFL. I just hope his crew is up to par.

I haven't heard anyone talk about this but the real surprising thing about the call reversal from last week was A: the speed it took place after the initial call was announced and B: Fox didn't broadcast the official's first call nor that hyper, hyper fast discussion and decision for a ......never before seen post call, CALL REVERSAL!!!!!!!!

Good thing we got controversial call out of the way last week! Very unlikely that will happen 2 weeks in a row. NFL would do everything to make sure that doesn't happen again during the rest of the playoffs! I am nervous but feeling confident about this game! Go Pack Go!!!

That's what I was saying before. I think it's a good point. And if anything the controversy and attention may actually play into the Packers favor on close/judgement calls. The NFL can not allow that type of officiating to appear systemic. Dean Blandino is on the hot seat already.
