Report: Favre Delaying Return to Lambeau Due to Starr's Health

Favre and Starr were supposed to appear at the Nov. 9 game against the Chicago Bears.

Apparently, the plan was for Brett Favre to make his first appearance in Green Bay since his retirement at the Packers' Sunday Nov. 9 nationally-televised game against the Chicago Bears along with former Packers quarterback and coach Bart Starr.

According to Ed Werder of ESPN.com, however, Starr's health issues—which include two strokes and a mild heart attack—have delayed plans for a return to Lambeau Field.

Asked whether the Packers could have proceeded with Favre alone, the former quarterback replied, "I'm sure they could, but it was my idea to do it, and now that Bart can't, I just don't think I will.''

Seeing as the idea was Favre's to back out, it sure feels like Favre was banking on the appearance of Starr in order to receive a warm reception after his messy divorce from the organization.

In August, the Packers and Favre announced that he would return to Green Bay in 2015 to be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame and have his number retired.

Hope Starr gets better, but that's a total wuss move on Favre's part. Just suck it up and show up. Enough with the drama already (look who I'm talking about, who am I kidding).

I agree, this is just one more notch in the belt regarding the complete loss of any respect the guy once had. He is a complete tool, and wuss to boot.

If I was there and it was Favre solo, I'd boo my ass off. Yes, he put the Pack back on the map. He is deserved of a warm reception, but I can't get over the whole Viking beating TT thing. Ted was right. See Aaron Rodgers. TT keeps #4 for another year and we may be watching #12 on another team. As horrible as that sounds .

Yeah, but then maybe it would be Andy Dalton or Jay Cutler under center. And wouldn't that be... wait. Never mind.

No way in hell would I boo. At least he didn't bring a title to the queens. I suffered through 20+ years of bad football until #4 showed up. He also got Reggie to sign and a title. I'm going to his bash next year. HOF QB's don't grow on trees and we had the privilege to watch one for almost 20 years. Now we have an even better QB, man we're spoiled rotten.
