The biggest mistake of 2013 offseason was not even asking Woodson to take a pay cut and stick around as a Safety. That was an even bigger mistake than their bungling of the backup QB spot, IMO.

Instead, they decided to roll the dice on MD Jennings and Jerron McMillian. That came up snake eyes. Not only would things have been better on the field, I don't think there is a better human being available to mentor Micah Hyde on converting from CB to Safety. Safety would still be a concern this offseason but it wouldn't be quite the hand-wringer it is seen as now.

"The thing is, would Woodson have taken a pay cut to stick with Green Bay?"

That's certainly a good question. One that cannot be answered with anything but opinion.

All I know is 1) he took a ton less to play in Oakland on a one year deal. 2) He really warmed up to GB after being very icy to the place initially 3) He said his agent asked the Packers if they wanted to cut his pay heading into the '12 season and the Packers said no.

Given that, it seems well worth asking. The Packers did not.
