Raji Indicates His Future In Green Bay Is "Uncertain"
The veteran defensive lineman also calls Guion's extension "well deserved."
By PackerAaron
Almost immediately after Letroy Guion's extension was reported, my Twitter mentions basically turned into a long line of questions about what Guion's deal means for the future of B.J. Raji in Green Bay.
It would appear Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press Gazette had a similar experience because he apparently reached out to Raji via text regarding that very topic.
From Wood:
In a text, B.J. Raji says his future with #Packers is "uncertain at this point" after "well-deserved" contract for teammate Letroy Guion.

So there you go. If I had to guess, Thompson will let Raji hit the market, as he did last time, and let him try to get a long term deal elsewhere. But I'm sure no doors will be closed if Raji decides he wants to come back.
Or, Raji could get a new deal tomorrow. We'll see.

One player can't be the same player without a spelling from another quality player....my bets are on Raji coming back.

Certainly a very appropriate text by Raji. I agree with WinUSA that we won't find out if Raji is coming back until after the first wave of free agency subsides - late March, perhaps not until May.

I'd like to see him back if the $ are reasonable, but some team will likely overpay.

He was on the market the year before and not one team showed that interest. As in!they know he is abum but to Ted he is a cheap bum. Ted loves the hometown discount guys.

I'd like to see him walk. He just isn't the same guy as 2010. Now if we had Guion Daniels and a certain draft pick named Billings on our front we would be stacked. Billings is the next Aaron Donald book it.

Raji will stay a packer because capers needs him and like guion will be cheap. Thus the pass rush remains stagnant for next year. Perry will be kept too and we will lack!the outside speed Denver just showed is needed to win a sb. Enjoy packer fans .

Kyler Fackrell will instantly give e Perry and Neal walking papers and allow Peppers and Jones rotate and allow Matthews to move about while Ryan hopefully grows along with another draft pick.

I'll bet he's a New Jersey Giant in the very near future.

I think you might be right although the Giants run a 4-3 so the fit might not be the best. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see him go to Oakland or Kansas City because of the GM's for both teams and they both run a 3-4 defense, and Oakland loves Ex-Packers. OR the obvious team which is New England.

I thought Raji acted over aggressive with Clinton Dix in his defense of Peppers in the Carolina game, and his personal foul in the AZ game hurt.

TT will no doubt sign Mario Williams to solidify the D line.

Now his future like his play is uncertain. Makes sense to me. Thanks, Since '61

With the cap rising each year, Raji is worth a similar team friendly, cap friendly deal. A deal similar to Guion’s would be reasonable. It's not like Guion blew the doors off in 2015 either (zero sacks, zero passes defensed), although he adds value to the D-line rotation and was playing out of his usual NT position.
