Potential For Former Packers GM Ron Wolf To Get His Own Street Name

Richard Ryman from the Green Bay Press Gazette reports that Alderman Chris Wery officially brought the idea of naming a street for Ron Wolf to the Green Bay City Council.

Wolf became the Packers General Manager in 1991 and his first major move was to bring in Coach Mike Holmgren. Wolf is largely credited with turing the Packers franchise turning around. Wolf left the team in 2001, and will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this August.

After the difficulties with Mike McCarthy getting his street, Wery is aware of potential issues.

"I had always wondered about it, especially after some recent namings," Wery said. "I requested that a street be named for (Tony) Canadeo and that was done. It was not until a few more people asked me why the architect of the great '90s teams was not honored that I put a request in."
