Its really announcement time. I say he made his decidion back in Nov and knows exactly what he is going to do. His holding out only proves more to me the decision is to return only to the packers, thus stalling to prevent a trade.
He aint going to a place he isnt in charge and he is not leaving 58 mil on the table.

Maybe you wouldn't leave 58 million on the table, but Aaron Rodgers is not motivated by money at this point. He's said before he has more money than he can ever want - he has "f*ck you" money, which is an excellent position to hold.

He shouldn't be in charge in Green Bay either. The franchise name isn't the Aaron Rodgers Packers despite what he thinks. Its way past time The Packers finally grow some balls and deal with Rodgers. They really messed up last year by turning down a kings ransom and not trading 12 to the Broncos. Could have been well on our way back to competing again. This is bullshit management is letting him drag this out AGAIN! I wouldn't care if we only won 5 games next year if it means Rodgers is gone. I know most would agree.

Personally, I think Aaron would relish the white hot spotlight that a move would bring to him. To share that/those moments with no one is just what he has set up.
Either way he gets his moment. The only way to prolong it is to leave Green Bay.
Bye-bye, Aaron.

Carr is going to the Saints. That should be a big clue to what Jets are thinking. Aaron trade to the Jets should be in the news by this week.

What makes you think Carr is going to the Saints? Just a hunch or did you read something credible?

How about we trade AR12 to the Raiders and then trade the 7th pick to the Jets for the 13th pick and their 2nd round pick? IDK who the Jets take at 7 overall, but gaining that extra 2nd round pick would be wicked in my opinion.

Go Gutey Go!

I would rather we trade AR12 to the Raiders and then trade the 7th pick to move back in the 1st round and gain yet another 2nd round pick.

If Gutey plays his cards right and doesn't outthink himself, we could own this draft.

Someone has already decided to target Anthony Richardson, IDK who that is, but if we have the 7th pick, it shouldn't be too hard to get a team to move up to #7 for Anthony Richardson, if he hasn't been drafted already.

So many possibilities. Lets just pray Murphy and Gutey doesn't screw this up.

I'm with you BirdDog. The sooner we trade him the better. Although if we get the chance to trade back with #7 it will bring way more than just an extra 2nd rounder. If we trade Bahktiari alone we probably get a 1st rounder and more. Starting left tackles are incredably valuable and we would have more contenders for him than for Rodgers. How about also trading Savage, maybe to Denver for TE Albert O. He is young, talented and we wanted him before. Maybe get a late pick to boot. Trade back and gain the riches.

Trade Rodgers to jets or raiders. Sign Jameis Winston now that saints let him go to back up Jordan love ! Let Lewis and Cobb and baktahri go.

Great idea. I still remember what Winston did to Green Bay just a couple of years ago. Then draft a developmental QB in draft later. Maybe the sleeper Tyson Bagent, that lit up the combine last weekend. 17000 yards and 157 TDs is big time production at any level of college. I also like Clayton Tune-Houston if he fell to 4th or 5th. These are the bonus picks we could get by trading back in 1st round with # 15 and whatever we get for Rodgers.

Winston showed in NO that he can't play within a system, and he's always been a garbage-time QB. He's a gunslinger firing a shotgun rather than a 45.

If they're going to sign a vet backup, they can do better than Winston.

Rich Eisen on his Rich Eisen Show - Top 5 rumors from the combine by multiple people. Who checked in at number 2?

#2) The Packers sure hope that Aaron Rodgers doesn't want to come back.

Rich says they want him to retire or ask for trade.

Kinkaid can catch everything in his zip code. After Saturday combine results, Washington catch radius appears to also extend into the next three zip code. I like both. Many quality TEs this draft.

The only person who would say someone wouldn't like NYC is a person who has never been there and just doesn't like cities. NYC is America's greatest attraction. To be a star in NY is to be the biggest star on the planet. AR12 likes dating models and actresses, There's no shortage of them in NY. You know what they call a model/actress in Green Bay? A tourist.

Thanks, I'll be here all week.

No model or actress would ever voluntarily come to Green Bay - or, probably, anywhere else in Wisconsin not named Milwaukee or Madison.

Aaron Rodgers talking with Jets.

https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2023/03/07/report-packers-qb-aaron-rodg...

"According to Trey Wingo of Pro Football Network, Rodgers and the Jets “had conversations” on Monday and the 39-year-old quarterback is “open” to playing in New York in 2023.

The report would assume a few things: Rodgers wants to play next season, the Packers gave him permission to talk with the Jets and a divorce ending with Rodgers in New York is now the most likely outcome."

- He ain't talking with them if he plans on retiring. He was never retiring. To the Jets then.

Rodgers needs to make this a war.
Just for the money.
It doesn't matter what anyone thinks.
It doesn't matter who they are.
I'm playing - Do what you want!
It doesn't matter for what team now.

I actually think your ideas here have already become reality, if the NY Jets story is true. And I say "Bring on the War, Aaron, so long as you're out of GB!"

You might want to consider why things this year are not the same as they were last year - why are the Packers ready to move on? Here's a possible answer (I'm not saying that this is the correct answer) - They've seen what Love can do and think he's a winner, and they've seen Rodgers' skills decline and his personality becoming an issue in the locker room, and realized that he's no longer a winner.

The only problem with Rodgers going to the Jets is that it's unlikely we'll ever play against him before he finally does call it quits - although I would personally Love to see us destroy him and his new green team in the Super Bowl in two years.

The Packers and Jets facing each other in the Super Bowl would also put you in a somewhat awkward position - who would you root for? Rodgers or the Packers? Or would you weasel out by saying that you want Rodgers to have a great, MVP-type game while rooting for the Packers to win (that would be mutually exclusive, BTW)?

"why are the Packers ready to move on?"

I'll go one step further: when ARod "won the war" in 2022 with his fat new contract, the chip was off his shoulder. There was a chip after Love was drafted. There was a chip after the off-season theatrics leading into 2021. There was no chip in 2022. He didn't have to be in GB in the off-season, he didn't have to do anything he didn't want to do. He had little interest in being the face of the franchise and leading his young teammates and elevating their play: they had to learn HIM, he wasn't going to learn them. He was flat, sullen, and moved from a leader (supportive) position even further into a position of throwing darts at teammates and coaches. His contract, attitude, and persona has become a burden on the coaching staff and the locker room.

With that in mind, it's my assertion (backed up by the opinions of many columnists/bloggers--so it's nothing new) that management has decided the TEAM will be healthier both in cap and in mindset, without 12. The disinterested, standoffish, and divisive ARod has made the offense (and the team) less than the sum of its parts. Another way to say it is that management might be gaining more in terms of team health by running with a less burdensome, more invested young QB than bearing the weight of 12.

To add--this is probably the best thing that could happen to 12's 1-2 remaining years in the league. The chip will be squarely back on his shoulder to prove GB wrong. He'll need to invest in the off-season to learn whatever offense he's thrust into. ...and if it's the Jets, he'll have a charismatic defensive-minded HC who can rally the other side of the ball and stay completely out of 12's way. Fully expect that he will have a renaissance if he goes to the Jets that he couldn't have in GB.

"The Packers and Jets facing each other in the Super Bowl would also put you in a somewhat awkward position - who would you root for? Rodgers or the Packers?"

F#@k ARod. Go Pack Go!!

Agreed. As I said: if ARod is playing, and it's not in GB, the Packers are going to have to let him talk to other teams before they can trade him. It would be--and is--one of the worst-kept secrets in the NFL if he started talking with other teams.

The worst case scenario is Aaron Rodgers is actually talking to the Jets, a deal seems imminent, and the deal falls through, dashing our hopes yet again...

Fully expect that 12 will shop around, if there are other teams showing interest, anyway. This will go on for a full week, yet. That's what I'd do, anyway.

I don’t think there will really be any other offers that will come close the Jets, their playoff readiness, and owner that wants Rodgers. I’d be surprised by any other scenario. I’m pretty confident the Jets are where he will be.

He's never had the chance to really be courted, wined, and dined. I think that will appeal to him and--to a great degree--he's in control of this process.
