Packers vs.Texans Game Predictions from CheeseheadTV.com

 GAME PREDICTIONS Week 13

Green Bay Packers vs. Houston Texans

Name Record   Pick Prediction
Adam 16-0 Green Bay Packers
Jersey Al 4-7 Green Bay Packers 24-16
The Texans could only manage 13 points at home last week against the Chargers, a team that has given up more passing yards and total yards than the Packers. It’s Deja Vu all over again as the Packers defense finds an offense it can handle and Rodgers takes care of the rest.
Andrew 5-6 Green Bay Packers 27-17
Here is where we get some more insight into whether this defense is what we saw last week or what we saw the two weeks before. I'm hopeful, especially against an unimpressive Brock Osweiler and with the Packers offense on fire. Here's hoping I don't jinx it.
Cory 6-5 Green Bay Packers 24-16
The Texans have a $72 million mistake at quarterback. And the Packers appear to be getting into an offensive rhythm. How many carries will Christine Michael get this week?
Jason 7-4 Green Bay Packers 31-24
TI haven't picked the Packers in nearly a month.  I am not convinced that all is fixed with this team but last week's showing gave me enough confidence that they can, and should win this game at home.  It comes down to the Packers pass rush and minimizing big plays downfield.  Green Bay's offense needs to be efficient for four quarters.  If the Packers can't beat Brock Osweiler and the Texans at home, the hope regained after the win over the Eagles will fade quickly
Jayme 5-6 Green Bay Packers 28-21
Hey, it worked last week...let's try it again.
Michelle 5-6 Green Bay Packers 24-20
The Packers caught the Eagles at just the right time in their schedule, not to take anything away from their much-needed victory. But the Texans are sitting atop the AFC South and are fifth in the league in rushing thanks to Lamar Miller. However, Houston’s standing suggests the team is better than it is. If the Packers can take away the ground game, they can definitely outscore this squad.
Ross 6-5 Green Bay Packers 30-17
This is the game that will either provide belief for the rest of the season or prove that what happened in Philadelphia was a fluke.  If the Packers are able to win, they'll even their record at 6-6 and draw even with Minnesota.  The goal, of course is to get to the week 17 game in Detroit with a chance to win the division. If Harrison Smith has a long term injury, Minnesota's season is over (it's probably over anyway).  I don't really think that there is any chance the Vikings win the North. This is either the Lion's division, or a chase between the Packers and the Lions.  If that's the case, Green Bay just has to find a way to get to Detroit within a game with the Lions. You'll remember that Detroit trailed at Lambeau Field, 31-3.  That first half was the best stretch of football for the Packers all season.  Green Bay held on to that win and therefore can win the North via tiebreaker if they win the game.  Detroit could certainly lose at the Giants, at the Cowboys and at the Saints this Sunday, putting them at 8-7.Even if that happens it still means the Packers can only lose one of the next four games.  With a game coming up against the Seahawks, that loss can't come on Sunday against Houston.
Zach 6-5 Green Bay Packers 31-17
In what should be a chilling affair at Lambeau, the Packers continue the march to their goal of running the table with a win over the Texans.
Mr. X 5-6 Green Bay Packers 20-12
Looks like everyone is back on the Packers bandwagon after a desperation win. From this point on, the Packers can look at these final five as playoff games as they try to run the table. I think they can do it.

This is kinda funny. If you had taken this poll last week, I'll bet the results would be vastly different. The Texans were above .500 and the Packers had just lost their 4th game in a row. What a difference a week makes. Now GB is the best thing since sliced bread and Houston is trending downward? Must be something out of the "what have you done for me lately" dept.

Finally picked against the Packers last week and the Packers won. I'm not going to mess with that...Houston 27-13.

Still, an interesting stat:
"Per ESPN Stats & Info, When the Packers have Randall, Morgan Burnett, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Quinten Rollins on the field this season, they've allowed a 57.5 Total QBR. When any are off the field, they've allowed a 79.3 Total QBR."
How much difference does having a credible CB make? Houston's a running team, but it's a passing league...

Interesting stat dobber. It really put's in perspective just how bad Goodson is/was. I hope the kid a speedy recovery and he's able to continue his dream of playing in the NFL, just rather it be with say for example the Vikings.
I also could have swore I saw a stat where the opposing QB rating when throwing against Randall was well over 100 but I clearly was wrong.

The Packers just added Randall to the injury report(groin) and listed him as Questionable. Lang and Tretter have been downgraded to OUT against the Texans.

Keys for this game will be Rodgers mobility and whether a running game emerges for the Packers. With a decent run game and efficient passing similar to the Eagles game the Packers will move the ball effectively on offense. Playing at home the Packers OL and DL/front 7 will come up big and win the LOS. The Packers have handled better runners than Miller and if Ryan returns I think we're OK. As long as the Packers avoid beating themselves I like the Pack 34-16. Thanks, Since '61

Looks like the wagon has a lot of full seats. Can't blame you, after all, we are Packer fans. It will be an interesting game given that Crennel was the first to shutdown the high-flying Packers from 2014. Let's see if MM has learned anything over these past years. Our biggest advantage might be Brock Osweiler's struggles. Hopefully, our defense shows up and makes it a game.

I cannot believe A-Rod will have two great games back to back. Especially this year, and with his injury! I look for more running from both teams. I'm taking the packers , 17-14 in OT.

I see The Packers signed Joe Callahan to the practice squad. Maybe to have a tested back up for ARod down the stretch???: "Rookie quarterback spent five weeks on Packers' roster

The Green Bay Packers have signed QB Joe Callahan to the practice squad and released WR Dez Stewart from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Friday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Callahan, a 6-foot-1, 216-pound rookie, was originally signed by Green Bay as an undrafted rookie out of Wesley College on May 6. After being released by the Packers on Oct. 13, he was claimed off waivers by the New Orleans Saints. Callahan was released by the Saints on Oct. 22 and claimed by the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 24, but was released on Nov. 29. In 2015, he became the first NCAA Division III quarterback to throw for 5,000 yards in a season, earning the Gagliardi Trophy, the highest award in Division III football."

Huh? I see no sarcasm marks...

That's because he's only been released by 3 teams, including once by the Packers in the same season. Once he gets released again the sarcasm will pick up. As for the Packers we now have 2 backup QBs who have yet to play in an NFL game, woopie! Thanks, Since '61

I have been on the Packers bandwagon all season , the Packers should never have been underdogs for any game but when injuries set in things changed. Now at least we can point the finger at something but you look around the league at Arizona, Carolina , Denver to name a few , those teams not devastated by injuries and not doing well so my point is the Packers record Is a result of those injuries and nothing else, Rodgers numbers are pretty good I could care less about his personal life as long as he goes out on game day and gives it his all which I believe he had.

I've been sitting back, just waiting for the money to be the other way. That finally happened last week. This game opened GB -3 1/2. NOT GOOD!!, for GB. However, the Line has moved now to GB -6 1/2. As a rule when the Line moves 2 pt's, in this case 3, you have to go with that team. GB, from the Betting angle, would be the pick here to Cover. What scares me here is, Everyone seems to be back on GB again. That's NOT GOOD, but you have to play the same on every game, & every team. So IMO, Green Bay would be the Pick here. Go Saints!!
