Packers Rookie WR Jared Abbrederis Confirms ACL Tear
The fifth round draft choice confirmed his knee injury on social media before the team acknowledged it.
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jared Abbrederis broke the grim news himself on Twitter Saturday afternoon, just hours before the start of the annual Family Night event inside Lambeau Field:
I know there has been a lot of talk going around about my injury. The acl injury was confirmed this morning and is only a small setback.

It will only make me stronger, and I cannot wait to get back on the field with my team! I truly appreciate all the love and support!

Abbrederis was reportedly initially diagnosed with a torn ACL on Friday, but the Packers wanted to confirm through further testing.
Presumably, Abbrederis will be placed on injured reserve, however, the Packers have yet to make any news official.
While the injury to Abbrederis can only be considered a setback for the Wisconsin product, the Packers are lucky to absorb at blow at the position because of the depth they've built.
Through the addition of three draft choices at wide receiver in addition to several holdovers from last season's roster, they Packers have no shortage of options fighting for five or six, perhaps even seven, roster spots.
Beyond Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Jarrett Boykin and Davante Adams—who all appear to be locks to make the 53-man roster—other options include Jeff Janis, Chris Harper, Kevin Dorsey, Myles White and Alex Gillett.
