Packers Reportedly Speak with WR Jalen Saunders at Senior Bowl
The Packers continue scouting work at the Senior Bowl this week, talking with Oklahoma WR Jalen Saunders.
Despite his small size, the 5-foot-9, 164 pound receiver might have a leg up on the competition. Per Ty Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Saunders's uncle was current Packers receiver James Jones's position coach in college and Saunders is friends with Jones.
Saunders, who had 123 receptions for over 1500 yards over the past two seasons, believes he would fit in well with the Packers.
"I think I’d thrive in Green Bay’s offense really well. I’ve always watched the Packers play and feel I could play for them....I have a good football IQ. I know how to read defenses before the snap. I’m myself."

I actually wouldn't mind taking a late roun flier on him. As an OU fan I've seen him play plenty and he plays bigger than his measurables. He's like a smaller faster version of Randall Cobb. Plus he'd help in the return game.

Think kick returner! Maybe TT and MM are getting serious about the Packers woeful special teams.

I like what I have seen from Saunders. He is more of a slot type of WR. He is small, but fast. He has shown good return ability.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Packers taking him in the mid to late rounds. Make him a return specialist and role player on offense.

Late rounds would be ok. I don't think he can take the physical punishment, though, and certainly wouldn't help in the red zone. But PR and mid field slot WR may be worth a shot.
