Packers RB DuJuan Harris Inactive for Lions Game

For the first time this season, Green Bay Packers running back DuJuan Harris is listed on the team's inactive list for the Week 17 game agains the Detroit Lions.

Harris' biggest role has been as the Packers' kick return specialist, where it would seem likely that Randall Cobb or perhaps Micah Hyde would take over.

Active for the first time this season, meanwhile, is quarterback Scott Tolzien, perhaps an insurance policy for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has been limited all week with a calf injury.

The other six players on the Packers' inactive list are as follows:

  • Cornerback Davon House
  • Wide receiver Jeff Janis
  • Tight end Justin Perillo
  • Center Garth Gerhart
  • Linebacker Carl Bradford
  • Defensive lineman Bruce Gaston

Tolzien being active doesn't give me warm fuzzies about the condition of Rodgers' calf. That's not a good way to start off the day.

Harris hasn't done a damn thing this entire year.

He's not a Kick Returner, I think that's become abundantly clear. Let him have a rep or two at RB that normally would go to Starks, throw him a screen once in a while and I think we'd see that guy from 2012 again, especially behind the OL.

Spot on!

I wonder if the coaches aren't giving him any offensive snaps because he often makes poor decisions on KOs.

I just hope the coaches haven't forgot what he did and how he looked against the 49ers in the Playoffs (where it really counts).

I know the coaches don't want to steal carries away from Lacy, but I wouldn't mind taking a couple away from Starks. They can be strictly run plays (since he's not the best pass blocker), or they can be strictly swing passes or screens.

Does anyone else here think that James Starks might be able to return KO's. My memory is not what it used to be. Has he ever been given the chance. I'm a Starks fan. If he hits an opening, he's gone. He doesn't get much playing time. Why hasn't he been tried, or has he?? LVT
