Packers Practice Report: Flynn, Tolzien Take QB Reps in Rodgers' Absence

Rodgers did not anticipate practicing on Wednesday with a lingering calf injury.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was not present at practice on Wednesday, according to Jason Wilde of ESPNWisconsin.com:

Rodgers did not anticipate practicing. The quarterback said Tuesday on his weekly radio show, "It'll be a similar schedule this week probably as far as practice time."

Last week, Rodgers did not practice on Wednesday either, receiving treatment instead. He followed up on Thursday by taking part on a limited basis.

Rodgers is nursing a lingering calf injury originally sustained in Week 16 at Tampa Bay.

Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien are taking reps at the quarterback position in Rodgers' absence.

It would appear all other Packers players practiced to some extent, even defensive lineman Josh Boyd, who appeared to aggravate a knee injury in Sunday's divisional round playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys.

It would be nice if Boyd recovers. He would help with the rotation on the defensive line.

It's such a pleasure to see a report like this with zero surprises. Much better than years past.
