Packers Practice Report: DL Datone Jones Drops Out
After returning to practice on Wednesday for the first time since his injury, Jones reportedly sat out on Thursday.
Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Datone Jones dropped out of practice on Thursday, one day after returning from injury, according to Justin Felder of Fox 11 in Green Bay, who was in attendance at Packers practice:
Neither #Packers CB Tramon Williams nor Sam Shields practicing today during portion open to media. No Datone Jones, either.

Jones practiced for the first time on Wednesday since dropping out of the Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings with an ankle injury. The Packers defensive end was withheld from the most recent game against the Miami Dolphins on the team's gameday inactive list.
Whether Jones suffered a setback is unknown.
Head coach Mike McCarthy speaks to the media at 2:00 p.m. CT and may provide an update why Jones has gone from practicing to sitting out.
Meanwhile, it's status quo for the Packers starting cornerbacks. Neither Tramon Williams nor Sam Shields practiced for a second consecutive day.
The likelihood of the Packers relying on their backups at the cornerback position continues to grow as Davon House, Casey Hayward, Jarrett Bush and Demetri Goodson could play bigger roles on Sunday when the Packers meet the Carolina Panthers.

D Jones... Another high ankle injury? Great. The one last year took him from marginal to completely ineffective all year long.

Not sure how you could call Jones anything before the injury last year as it occurred on his first play of the preseason

Let's hope Goodson doesn't set a single foot on the field on Defense. The only way that should happen is if there are another 2 injuries in the secondary (knocks on wood). I'd put Richardson on the field looooong before Goodson gets out there. Either that or stop playing Dime completely.

What if Goodson has been a stud in practice and just hasn't logged any playing time because of our amazing depth?
What if Goodson is the next Casey Hayward?
What if Goodson > Woodson?

The injury gods must have been angry. With the Packers enjoying a season with few major injuries, they decided to smite the Pack and get them back to their normal distribution of disabled players.
Sam Shields was injured by just standing there. Out of no where a bolt of cosmic energy was thrust from above, striking his knee and taking him down. And to add to the total, the gods had Tramon taken out by his own teammate. Now we're getting back to the status quo.

I hope it's just caution rather than a setback.
