Packers Need Help to Clinch a Playoff Spot This Week

The Packers can't clinch the division, a bye in the playoffs or home-field advantage, but they can lock up a spot in the playoffs this week.

The Green Bay Packers can't clinch the NFC North division, a bye in the playoffs or home-field advantage this week, but they can lock up a guaranteed spot in the playoffs in several specific scenarios.

Released by the NFL on Tuesday, the Packers can clinch a spot in the playoffs if any of five different scenarios come to fruition in Week 16:

  1. Packers win + Eagles loss or tie OR
  2. Packers win + Cowboys win or tie OR
  3. Packers tie + Eagles loss OR
  4. Packers tie + Eagles tie + Cowboys win or tie OR
  5. Eagles loss + Cowboys win or tie

Anything more than cinching a mere playoff spot will have to wait until Week 17.

The Packers play at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

I don't think the Cowboys beat the Colts without DeMarco Murray.

I think an Eagles win over Washington is likely. Cowboys will have trouble with Indy, so I doubt do we clinch a spot this week. Just gotta keep winning. I bet there haven't been many 11-4 teams that hadn't clinched by the last game of the season.

Easiest path to and thru the playoffs. Win the next 2 games. Win the next 2 games and get a bye and home field advantage over all but 1 team.
