Packers Launch "Get Loud Lambeau" Campaign

The Packers are encouraging fans to make Lambeau Field an intimidating environment for opposing teams.

The Green Bay Packers announced the launch of a new fan engagement campaign on Tuesday called "Get Loud Lambeau," aimed at encouraging fans to be loud and on their feet for the upcoming game against the Detroit Lions and beyond.

Head coach Mike McCarthy wore a sweatshirt at his press conference emblazoned with "Get Loud Lambeau" while answering reporters' questions.

"It's all about December football," said McCarthy. "We want to play our best football in December and we want our best Lambeau experience here in Decemeber. Get loud Lambeau, please participate."

The Packers are taking advantage of a game with high stakes to initiate their campaign.

The winner of Sunday's game will win the NFC North division and receive no lower than a No. 2 seed in the playoffs and the bye that comes with it.

There is also a chance that either the Packers or Lions could capture the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, but either team would need help.

During the game, the team will cue fans, letting them know the most crucial times to get loud with messages that will appear on the stadium's video boards, handheld signs, new music and in-game giveaways.

“Our fans make Lambeau Field one of the best stadiums in the NFL both for visitors and competitors, and 'Get Loud Lambeau' can help to make the Packers even more formidable at home,” said Gabrielle Dow, the team’s vice president of marketing and fan engagement. “If our fans get loud and on their feet, they can energize our players and coaches to make a huge difference in the game’s outcome.”

Packers players, coaches and employees will be wearing "Get Loud Lambeau" t-shirts throughout the week.

There was no indication whether the new campaign is meant to enhance or replace the team's older "G-Force" in-stadium fan engagement platform.

Asking the fans to stand? Telling them when to cheer? Have things gotten so lame at lambeau that the front office has to tell the crowd how to cheer properly?

This is awesome. G Force has been the lamest thing I've ever been forced to be a part of. Get Loud Lambeau! The playoffs are here

Agreed 100%. I was always embarrassed or the stupid G Force chants/songs...in fact, the one G-Force song may be the worst thing I have ever heard at any stadium ever. Completely manufactuered with no real emotion or history behind it. Anyone ever been to a Steelers game? (My wife is a fan) they do an amazing badass video of Styx's "Renegade" that gets the crowd seriously pumped...fans look forward to it. I just shake my head at G-Force. Hopefully get loud is a bit more effective.

my first visit to Lambeau was for a Packers Bears game and I was kinda surprised at how laid back the fans were, my son and I were probably the loudest in the stadium and got some strange looks from some of the regulars whenever we got a bit excited, when they realized we were new yorkers I guess they figured we couldnt help it. my point is , the Lambeau crowd can step it up a notch,I know its cold but come on.

The front office is getting ripped for this, but I'm not sure why. Packer fans could swallow their pride a bit, because even though we are the biggest and best fanbase in the world - we're not the loudest or rowdiest at home, and it's not even close.

I've gone to ~20 games in the last decade, sitting in any one of 3 different sets of seats. I kid you not that behind each set was a group of older fans that do nothing but complain about people standing up or being too rowdy. One particular old codger has no problem dumping on our coaches and players when they don't perform, but wouldn't stand up and cheer if his life depended on it. I know these examples are merely anecdotes on my part, but I know plenty of others have had similar ones.

If we want to make Lambeau special again, and truly prove we're the best, we might have to suffer through organizational prodding a little bit. We have to step up. I don't care that it's "lame" or makes you think that the organization thinks our fans are dumb. Plenty of our fans are dumb. Starting the wave while on offense is dumb. Only standing and cheering on 3rd down is dumb.

The Box seats don't help I think the sound gets deflected straight up. Yes there are a Lot of older people I've seen it too. Maybe they should pipe in noise between plays like other stadiums.
