Packers Fill Practice Squad Opening with RB Orwin Smith
After losing running back Michael Hill to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Green Bay Packers filled the opening on their practice squad with another running back, Orwin Smith.
Smith, a 6-foot, 209-pound rookie out of Georgia Tech, appeared in 51 games during his collegiate career and rushed for 1,839 yards and 20 TDs on 198 carries (9.3 avg.). He earned honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference recognition as a senior in 2012 after rushing for 682 yards and five TDs on 79 carries (8.6 avg.). Smith will wear No. 34 for the Packers.

I dunno what the hell they're doing on defense over in the ACC but averaging 9 yards a carry is just silly.

That guys was a beast at GT. He did have ankle issues but that didn't stop him from setting (or nearly setting) that schools ypc record. He must not have looked good in camp for Tampa not to carry him.

Ok so in 2012, a year and a half ago football wise, he played, got honorable mention and yet no one nada zilch picked this guy up. Can't imaging what is wrong with him other than often injured and or multipl mcl's in his past
