Packers Draft Day 2 Predictions: Bradford, Norwood, Fiedorowicz

Now that the Packers have added their safety, the can grab a linebacker and some receiving weapons for Aaron Rodgers on Day 2.

Now that Day 1 of the NFL Draft is in the books and the Green Bay Packers have addressed the safety position with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in the first round, there is no shortage of directions the team can go on Day 2.

The Packers may have lost out on Ryan Shazier and C.J. Mosley, but inside linebacker is still in need of an infusion of talent.

And keeping Aaron Rodgers well-stocked with plenty of receiving weapons will always be a priority in Green Bay.

Here's the prediction on the three newest members of the Green Bay Packers:

2.53 LB CARL BRADFORD, ARIZONA STATE

While he was primarily an outside linebacker at Arizona State, Bradford would play on the inside on occasional passing downs. At just 6' 1" and 250 lbs., he doesn't have ideal height to play on the line of scrimmage but Bradford does have the size needed to be effective as an inside linebacker. Making a full-time conversion to the second level of the defense won't come immediately, but Bradford has the raw talent to become a starter on the Packers defense to go along with a high ceiling. He also has the experience to rush from the edge in much the same way the Packers would do with Desmond Bishop.

3.85 WR KEVIN NORWOOD, ALABAMA

Hoping that Jarvis Landry will fall to the end of the third round would be nice, but the Packers can still get the next best thing. With Norwood, they'll still be getting a possession type of receiver but one with even better speed. Norwood has the experience and smarts to be effective on timing routes, including the back-shoulder passes that the Packers love. As such, the potential is there to become a security blanket for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

3.98 TE C.J. FIEDOROWICZ, IOWA

Now that the Packers have Eddie Lacy and a talented stable of running backs, the need for a tight end that can block is heightened in Green Bay and by getting Fiedorowicz, the Packers would be getting one of the best in this year's draft class. But that's not to say the Iowa product can't be a weapon as a receiver. Having Aaron Rodgers throwing him the football will make Fiedorowicz and even better weapon than he was at the college level.

I'm not the type to fall in love with potential draft pick but for some reason CJ Fiedorwicz is someone I'd love to see in Green & Gold.

Finally, some real football to talk about. CJF would be a nice addition.

I like him too. If the Pack don't select either Austin Seferian-Jenkins or Troy Niklas because their gone or simply decide to bypass on them in the second round in favor for someone else they believe to be a better value I certainly hope that Fiedorwicz is someone they give consideration to at another pick within the draft.

He may have some problems hanging on to the ball according to Gil Brandt and some other scouting reports....

This is all good and dandy, but I would think the odds of an ILB being the team's next choice are long (or put another way, similar to about 5 other "need" positions).

1. Lack of historical precedent that Ted really cares to fill needs with first available selection - maybe at some point in draft, but if it's 2nd or 5th round, no difference to him
2. How do we know the team considers ILB a serious need spot like fans sort of do? EVERYBODY knew the team needed help at safety. The team is returning its starters at ILB, so it isn't nearly as dire.

Is Bradford really better than Brad Jones or Lattimore? I wouldn't spend a 2nd round pick on him.

I see Niklas as a greater prospect vs. Fiedorwicz a greater ceiling.
I think in the second, TT either goes WR or TE with the players available. ASJ or Amaro will probably go to Seattle early.

With all of the good WR's left, I've got a feeling TT has his eye on at least one of them for R2. Someone who's a little faster than Boykin.
