Packers Daily Links: Ejected Fans Have to Complete Online Course

The Packers are one of eight NFL teams where ejected fans will have to complete an online course to return. That and more in today's Daily Links...

Beginning with the 2012 season, the Packaers are one of eight NFL teams that will be requiring fans ejected from stadiums to complete an online class if they hope to attend another game. "Ejected fans who sign up to complete the class at FanConductClass.com pay around $75 to $100, with some of the money going to charity," writes reporter Michael McCarthy of USA Today. "You don't have to complete it all at once. Fans can log in and out of the website until they're done. Hundreds of fans have completed the class, according to Novick. There's hasn't been a single repeat offender, he adds." The course reportedly teaches fans about alcohol awareness, the effect disruptive behavior has on other fans and coping skills for fans to handle themselves more appropriately.

The Packers have made a request the city of Green Bay to make a bigger "Lambeau Field" sign on the north side of the stadium facing Lombardi Ave. "The letters would be nearly 9-feet tall and would stretch more than 30-yards wide," according to Fox 11 news in Green Bay. "The total space would be nearly double from the signs being replaced." A rendering of the new proposed sign appears on Fox 11's website.

A couple Packers players talked to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about the start of the team's offseason conditioning program. Cornerback Jarrett Bush talked about moving on from last year's disappointing playoff loss. "You have to let that go," Bush is quoted as saying by Tyler Dunne of the Journal Sentinel. "You have to move on. As a football player, you have to have a short-term memory. If someone catches a ball, you can't think about that catch. The next play is the most important play. Same thing with the game. This off-season conditioning is the next step to build that foundation." For the next two weeks, players will be focusing solely on strength and conditioning before getting into individual position workouts.

Wide receiver Donald Driver doesn't appear in danger of being voted off Dancing With The Stars this week. "Driver scored 27 out of a possible 30 -- including a 10 from judge Carrie Ann Inaba -- on his Argentine Tango Monday night, keeping him in the thick of the competition for the Dancing with the Stars mirrorball trophy," writes Jason Wilde of ESPNMilwaukee.com. One couple will be eliminated from the competition on Tuesday night's episode at 8 p.m. Central time on ABC.

The Packers' regular season schedule will be released Tuesday night at 6 p.m., and Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette provides a reminder. "One new thing for 2012 is every NFL team will play in at least one Thursday game," writes Demovsky. "The NFL Network’s Thursday night prime-time package was increased from eight to 13 games." That's in addition to Thursday games being played on Thanksgiving on Fox and CBS.

Good idea to enlarge the sign. There must be thousands of people every year who see the stadium and wonder what it is.
