ha ha ha ha ha ha!
good one, Mikey.

Good one cowshit

COW's picture

Thanks.

McCarthy's offense was completely shutout in the first half vs Seattle in 2012. However they did score 12 points in that game. That's more than Peyton Manning and Broncos. But Seattle D is much better than they were in 2012.

Hopefully the offensive mastermind McCarthy can lead his offense to more than zero first half points like in 2012.

4thand1's picture

They have something called a running game now. His name is Eddy Lacy in case you missed it. The OROY.

LAS VEGAS-TOM's picture

I'd just as soon, if MM would keep his mouth shut about that Seattle game. I'm glad he feels the way he does, but I'd just as soon he keeps it to himself & his players. I don't want to hear "KICK ASS", "GUARANTEED WIN", OR ANY OF THAT BS" We want as little Hype on GB as possible going into that game. If anything, Build Up Seattle. LVT

Stroh's picture

Its not like he guaranteed a win or anything. Saying your going there to kick ass is just saying play hard and play to win, not a guarantee.

That game is going to be mega-hyped anyway. Not like his saying that is going to add to the hype.

Jordan's picture

Man Stroh...you really did a spin job on that. You're too much. I think you'd be good in politics.

When is the term "kick ass" ever synonymous with losing or a draw?

"Yeah, we kicked their ass, but we lost". Give me a break.

Try another spin. That one is not working.

LAS VEGAS-TOM's picture

Stroh, Well I have to disagree with you again on this one. What a surprise hey? Saying you're going to kick someone's ass, is quite a bit different than saying you're going out there to play hard & win. Those statements always seem to come back & bite you hard in the ass. Broadway Joe is the only guy I can think of who ever got away with it.

Now that MM has said it. It might be Best if he hammers it all the way to Seattle, & goes ALL IN. This is a Playoff Game. All or Nothing!! I'm sure the press won't forget this one, & I do agree with you, there will be plenty of hype on this game. If MM wants to Rattle them, then I think he should follow Broadway Joe's example, & Rattle The Whole Cage, from now until September, or else be Quiet. I think it's going to be hard for him to get away from these words. He knows the importance of this game. Hopefully he knows the Right way to approach it. LVT

Stroh's picture

Going there to kick ass isn't saying guaranteeing a win either. Its the same kinda statement he made when he said about going to NE. "We're nobody's underdog."

Nothing about the statement is a guarantee of a win. I'm quite sure McCarthy said it for a reason... To set a tone for the offseason and give his players the mindset to go on the field vs Seattle and dominate. Much more about setting a tone than a guarantee!

TommyG's picture

I'm sure the network is already building the screen shot of that tweet. Please don't give those fans any more ammunition than they already have. That stadium is insane without extra motivation.

Otto's picture

It reminds me of the "We're nobody's underdog" comment he made just before they went on the run that won the Super Bowl.

I like it.

Stroh's picture

Yeah, that's what came to my mind as well. Both say we're coming to Win, w/o saying we're going to win!

Nick Perry's picture

I'm with you Otto. The Packers have been fricken ravaged by injuries 3 of the last 4 years. When healthy, this team can play and beat anyone, anywhere, in the NFL. They have one of the best running games in the NFL, the best QB, and trust and believe a top 5 defense healthy.

Arizona went in there and beat them with Carson Palmer throwing 3 picks. That winning streak they had at home ended last year. Seattle is a different club already with the players they lost in Free Agency this year and remember, Browner won't be playing because he got busted for cheating. It's nice to see some passion out of McCarthy and oh, they will kick Seattles ass.

COW's picture

"a top 5 defense healthy"

this is classic.
ha ha ha ha ha ha

ray nichkee's picture

Don't worry, cow is not trying to place insult here.

Nick Perry's picture

I hope you have the sack to come back 8 weeks into the season and talk your nonsense. Ha Ha Ha Ha, good one!

4thand1's picture

Cow and some other turds would have liked it if he said, "we're going there to get our asses kicked".

LAS VEGAS-TOM's picture

4thand1, Saying "We're Nobody's Underdog", is a statement of Pride. Telling someone "You're going to Kick Their Ass" is at Best Arrogance, & at the least Extreme Confidence. Now that it's out there, LET'S BACK IT UP!! LVT

4thand1's picture

There is nobody more arrogant and cocky than Seattle. Just hope we don't lose a couple of starters on family night.

Stroh's picture

And what's wrong w/ having an extremely confident, even slightly arrogant team? Not like they don't have reason to be either. They're among the most successful teams for going on nearly 30 yrs now. You're not going to win in the most difficult venue in the NFL unless you have a lot of confidence and a little arrogance!

Jordan's picture

LVT,
You're wasting your time arguing with these homers. They're going to defend McCarthy no matter what.

Most coaches are telling their players not to do anything stupid like that to give the other team Bulletin Board material.

Stroh's picture

You really think its bulletin board material 5 months from now when the season starts? Players barely remember something said last week that might be bulletin board worthy. Something said in April will be LONG forgotten in Sept.

Common sense helps a little! Either way, he didn't say anything that can be considered bulletin board worthy. Just saying your going there to kick ass, is like saying your going there to play physically and to win. BFD! Teams say something to that effect every week during the season and it means little. Its FREAKIN April and we haven't even had the draft yet! It'll be LONG forgotten in Sept!

COW's picture

I would prefer that he keep his mouth shut and ask himself the following questions...

1. How can I prevent my entire team from getting injured again?
2. How can I better adjust (in game) to things that aren't working?
3. How can I stop my QB from getting sacked 50+ times a year?
4. How can I get the balls to can my shit-ass DC?
5. How can I stop my team from getting slapped around every time we play a physical team?

ray nichkee's picture

This comment here is not insulting at all. Capers had nothing to do with a superbowl win with only half his starters. Cow you are a turd.

LAS VEGAS-TOM's picture

I like Russel Wilson, but I Can't Stand Pete Carol. He makes me sick to look at, ever since his F#@kin' TD signal at the end of that game. We need to Contain, & Get To Wilson. Defense, Defense, Defense.

I don't see ANY injuries this year on Family Night. That better not happen, or we should take a look at our conditioning staff.

Stroh's picture

I don't want to contain Wilson... I want them to Kick his Ass! Dominate him!

Contain, is crap... You gotta be able to kick some ass to go into Seattle and WIN!

LAS VEGAS-TOM's picture

Stroh, That would be Great if it all works that way. Don't say Contain is Crap. Wilsons whole game is getting outside the perimiters. "I said, Get To Him" That's a Nice way of kicking his ass . You're not going to get to him every time, when you don't, you need to keep him in the pocket/ contain him. You know what I meant. Wilsons a scrambling QB. If you let him Extend plays, he's going to beat you, just like AR. That's why he needs to be Contained. Nothing wrong with being arrogant, as long as you can back it up. Our Defense needs to prove they're worthy of being arrogant, & then I'm with you on it. In the mean time, don't say Contain is Crap, when it comes to Russel Wilson. You of all people should know better than that.

4thand1's picture

You're both right. Hit him if he runs (in bounds) and keep him in the pocket.

LAS VEGAS-TOM's picture

4thand1, If you go back to my very 1st comment, I'm pretty much in agreement with MM. I'd like the whole team to be Confident & Arrogant.
I just don't think it was a good idea to put it out into the press. I'm pretty much the same type of person. Now that it's out there, make the most of it. Hammer it home. I'd like GB to be Arrogant & Confident. Just make sure you can back it up when the time comes. I don't know about being Arrogant, but having Confidence is a Great Asset. LVT

Stroh's picture

Tom... You just said contain him, not contain him w/in the pocket. Context was completely missing. When I read "contain" I take that as control his production, not contain him in the pocket. Seattle isn't going to be having him outside the pocket too much. He's going to be their franchise QB and they won't want him running around too much. They would prefer he plays from the pocket, to limit his chances of being injured. All that read option and the QB running is already starting to fade out of NFL playbooks. The formation of the pistol will stick around, but actually seeing QB's in predesigned run plays, that won't happen too much.

Either way its April, its not like Seattle is going to remember what was said 5 months from now. Much to do about nothing IMO.

LAS VEGAS-TOM's picture

Stroh, My words were "Contain & Get To Him" I thought it was clear. I meant not letting him get out of the pocket. If you think Seattle is ever going to keep Russel Wilson in the pocket, you're sadly mistaken. The only way that will ever happen, is if no one rushes the QB. Wilson is to small to be a pocket QB. No matter how much Seattle doesn't want Wilson to get hurt, I don't ever see his game changing. It Will Not change against us. We cannot let him extend plays.

Having rethought the whole MM thing, I'm kind of glad now that he said that. Coming from a coach, is different than coming from a player. at 1st I didn't see it that way, but it's a way to instill confidence in the team.

I always go against the grain. I want GB to be Favored that night, or at worst Pick-um. I want the $$$$ the other way. Let's see how it goes. I believe we will be favored, on the road at Seattle, probably by 3. The more the better. I'm sure you & all others will disagree. That's ok, we'll see what happens. I want to win that game. I may even bet it, if it looks right.

I don't want the players shooting their mouths off, but I can go along with MM doing it. And 1 more thing, Seattle will remember every word of this 5 months from now.

4thand1's picture

Look at how fast things change in the nfl. Rodgers got hit from behind and the season almost ended. Thanks to the collapse of the lolions & bearlies. IMO Barclay didn't finish his block after AR took off. Bulaga on the right side makes the o-line instantly a lot better. Any team that loses its starting QB will suffer. Seattle and SF have great D's to compensate but have lost some key people. If Denver loses Manning, they'll be lucky to win a game.

DrealynWilliams's picture

We're going there to kick ass...
(All work no play)

We're going to kick their ass...
(Arrogance. Conceit.)

Seems different to me. Anyway, I like it. This is a new man. I hope it continues throughout the season.

Jordan's picture

Your spin job is as bad as Stroh's.

Why try to spin what McCarthy said? There's no dumb sheep on this blog. People know what "kick ass" means. No need to try and spin it.

Now all McCarthy needs to do is get his offense to score more than 12 points. And preferably not get shutout in the first half like last time. It's tough to "kick ass" when you only score 12 points in 4 quarters of play.

DrealynWilliams's picture

Dude,shut up.

4thand1's picture

Must suck to have a half empty glass all the time. MM gets snippy with reporters as he gets older. I'd like to see a little more Bobby Knight by him. In his opinion a reporter asking him about Seattle and how they'll play is an insult. WTF, why not forfeit the game and stay home? Some people in here need an ass kicking, IMO.

DrealynWilliams's picture

Thank you!

Stroh's picture

Half empty? You give him too much credit. He's completely empty all day, every day!

COW's picture

" forfeit the game and stay home"

I suggested doing this last year for the SF game. Save a lot of $ on travel costs.

I would suggest they do the same with this game.

They CAN'T beat that team.

ray nichkee's picture

Nothing insulting here either cow. Maybe if you apoligized, quit drinking and blamed your piss poor attitude and insults on drinking you could start over and make some friends. You need to admit you are pissed off and your insulting comments are meant to piss people off.

LAS VEGAS-TOM's picture

COW, YOU, CRACK ME UP!! Even though I disagree with you on this game,(We'll Win It Outright, & Cover 3), I'm Still a friend. I'd like to ask you a question. If we could find 10 more A.J. HAWKS in the upcoming draft, where do you think our defense would Rank, at the end of this next season??

ray nichkee's picture

All you guys sound like weiners arguing over this (some more than others.) Even if they plan on getting their asses handed to them I don't want to hear the coach say he's hoping for a miracle. You don't gain trust and confidence in your team that way. it sounds more like a bit of humor than a guarantee anyway. Maybe he has a few new plays in mind for seattle but you guys make it sound like he has his game plan ready 5 months in advance. Geezus. Have some fun. Go pack.

COW's picture

Maybe he was drunk when he said it.

ray nichkee's picture

Being drunk would at least provide an explaination for your attitude cow.

aManOfTheNorth's picture

MM sets the mood for training camp with his, `kick ass` comment. Softies need not apply. Year two of a tougher team.
