Packers Closer To Harlan\'s Replacement

Just when I start to wonder where the heck Bob McGinn has been, he appears in today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel with a first-rate story regarding the Packers search for Bob Harlan's successor. (Hereis the abridged free version, here is the subscription version, which is a joy to read - just great journalism)

The Packers need to get this right, and should obviously take their time, but it's obvious that Jason Wied, current corporate counsel for the team, should be the man picked for the job. It's funny, because Andrew Brandt, I think, will be a victim of his own success. He's almost TOO good at what he does. What he's done with the cap and player contracts makes him too valuable to move him up the ladder, which is a shame, because he's a true unsung hero of the Packers overall success.
