Packers Calendar: Waiting on Jordy Nelson

When Friday's injury report comes out, Packers fans will be waiting to see if Jordy Nelson will be available to play.

Every Friday morning Mike McCarthy does brief interviews with several Wisconsin radio stations. They include:

  • WTMJ AM 620 Milwaukee at 6:25 am
  • WIBA AM 1310 Madison at 6:45 am
  • WIXX 101.1 FM Green Bay at 7:50 am

All interviews can be streamed live on the stations' respective websites, all times Central.

The Packers return to practice for the final time this week on Friday in preparation for their game on Sunday at the Chicago Bears.

McCarthy will hold a press conference following practice that will be streamed live on the team's official website at 12:30 p.m.

The Packers will also release their final injury report for the week on Friday, and the one player whose status is still up in the air is wide receiver Jordy Nelson. If Nelson is able to practice on Friday, there's a better chance he'll be able to play on Sunday.

Nelson missed last week's game against the Lions following a re-aggravation of a hamstring injury the previous week against the Vikings. Head coach Mike McCarthy said earlier in the week that Nelson would be a "long shot" to play in the Bears game but didn't rule him out.

From 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Reedsville, Wis. former Packers Dave Robinson and Bob Long will join author Royce Broyles to sign copies of the book Robinson and Broyles recently co-authored with another former Packer Herb Adderley.

They'll be at the Voyageur Inn signing the book, Lombardi's Left Side with $10 of every book going to benefit the Reedsville Area High School wrestling program, according to the Reedsburg Times-Press.

We seem to do a lot of waiting on a lot of players. I know everyone has injuries, but is there a reason to at least wonder about our conditioning and training staff? After all, how many hamstrings can get strained before you look at why so many hamstrings are getting strained.

BONUS: Hey Finley...you want to shut up already? It's no longer youthful exuberance, and you're just not that irreplaceable. So many around the league are apoplectic over the possibility of Finley leaving GB, and almost none of them are in GB where most everyone would, talent not withstanding, rent him a U-Haul and help him pack the boxes. Hey JF, knowing the chip on Aaron Rodgers' MVP shoulders, you think the way to get more balls is to criticize him? Yeah, you are EXACTLY as dumb as you seem.

Especially if you have serviceable depth. It's not like Sunday is a make or break game where we need all hands on deck either.

Exactly. Let's make sure we're ready to go for the playoffs. We'll get another shot to beat the Bears when it matters the most if we're smart with our injuries and play good football.

True we can beat the bears without Woodson and Jordy. Get healthy for the Playoff run.
