Packers Calendar: Looking for Jones, Taylor to Take Next Step

James Jones and Ryan Taylor have practiced in a limited capacity, but can they go to full participation before the Bears game?

Wide receiver James Jones and tight end Ryan Taylor both practiced on Thursday in a limited capacity for the first time in more than two weeks.

Both are nursing knee injuries, with Taylor having undergone minor surgery.

The challenge for them today and tomorrow will be to see if they can take the next step and go from limited to full participation in practice, as the Packers prepare to take on the Bears on Monday Night Football.

Jones' services are needed on offense, while Taylor will be a welcome addition to a special teams unit that's struggled of late.

Typically the Packers release their game day status projections on Friday when they have a game on Sunday, but because their next game is on Monday, the status projections won't be released until tomorrow.

Early Friday morning, head coach Mike McCarthy will make his rounds on statewide local radio as follows:

  • WTMJ AM 620 Milwaukee at 6:25 a.m.
  • WSAU AM/FM 550/99.9 Wausau/Stevens Point at 6:35 a.m.
  • WIBA AM 1310 Madison at 6:45 a.m.
  • WIXX 101.1 FM Green Bay at 7:50 a.m.
