Packers Calendar: Jerry Kramer at Paul Hornung Award Banquet

Kramer will be the keynote speaker at the ceremony honoring Washington's Shaq Thompson Tuesday in Louisville.

Former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Jerry Kramer will give the keynote speech at the Paul Hornung Award Banquet in Louisivlle Tuesday evening.

Kramer and Hornung were teammates on the Super Bowl winning Vince Lombardi era teams of the sixties.

The banquet will take place at the Galt House Hotel from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. local time.

Perhaps ironically, the banquet will honor Washington's Shaq Thompson winner of the Paul Hornung Award winner as the nation most versatile player. Thompson is a potential first-round target of the Packers in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Thompson played linebacker, running back and even a hybrid safety for the Huskies this past season.

The ceremony was pushed back from its original date in January as Thompson prepared for the NFL Combine and the original speaker, Vince Lombardi Jr., recovers from health complications.

Tickets are required to attend the event.

Also on Tuesday, former Packers safety LeRoy Butler will take part in the ongoing Speaker Series on the campus of Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton.

Butler will appear at 7:00 p.m. at the Appleton Campus Commons.

The event is free and open to the public.
