Packers Calendar: Final Full Day of Exclusive Negotiating Rights

Friday represents the last day the Packers have exclusive negotiating rights with their free agents like wide receiver Randall Cobb.

The sands in the hourglass are running out.

Friday represents the final full day in which the Green Bay Packers have exclusive negotiating rights with their pending free agents from dawn 'til dusk. Beyond dusk actually.

On Saturday at 3:00 p.m. CT a three-day window opens during which free agents can enter into negotiations with other NFL teams. However, no contract can officially be executed until Mar. 10.

Wide receiver Randall Cobb might get the lion's share of the attention because he's a good player expected to receive a lucrative contract, but the Packers free agent class numbers more than a dozen.

Players like offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga, cornerbacks Tramon Williams and Davon House, defensive linemen B.J. Raji and Letroy Guion, fullback John Kuhn, quarterbacks Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien and more are scheduled to hit free agency unless they sign extensions first.

Expect the Packers to be busy talking to their free agents and representatives on Friday.

Meanwhile, a handful of Packers players that won't be free agents will be headed to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for Event USA's "Packers Resort Vacation."

Wide receiver Davante Adams, defensive linemen Mike Daniels and Datone Jones and linebacker Nick Perry will be at the Hard Rock Resort for the next week with Packers fans on vacation.

They'll be joined Packers Hall of Fame fullback William Henderson, who will be acting as master of ceremonies and comedian Tom Wrigglesworth, the Aaron Rodgers look-alike.

The pro-day tour also continues on Friday with events being held at Arizona State, Southern Mississippi, Northern Illinois, Appalachian State and Newberry.

Sign the man. Considerably weaker attack without him

I don't agree. The Packers have a good receiving corps with Nelson, Davante, Boykin, Abbrederis, Janis, Rodgers, and Quarless. Someone will step up to take Cobb's place. I have a hunch TT will draft another good ball catcher either as WR or TE. Cobb won't be missed, not with Aaron Rodgers around. I'd be more worried about ILB and CB, especially if House also follows Williams out the door.

I'm sorry...you lost me at Boykin.

Boykin is why I'm not prepared to count on Adams (or Rodgers) for anything yet.

Your list is basically Nelson, Quarless and a bunch of maybes.

you nailed it tm, couldn't be more right on

Nelson may be the best pass catcher in the league and certainly the most reliable. Janis has the greatest upside of all and has flashed with every albeit limited opportunity. Abbrederis is heady player, a Cobb clone, and is slot & special-teams ready day 1. Boykin and Davante are reliable pass catchers with very good hands. Quarless still has some upside left and will impact more next year. RIchard sucks, can't block, can't run. Add a high round TE and late round WR thru the draft like you say, Cobb generally won't be missed.

"not with Aaron Rodgers Around" (was James Jones missed? was Greg Jennings missed? Rodgers could get me some completions)

Cobb is a luxury we would need to overpay for.
ILB, NT, CB, TE, S, RT, and NT again and ILB again are actual NEEDS.

House can be a top 10 corner in the league and has the skillset to battle with alshon jefferies and calvin johnson. SIgn him. Long-term

IMO Cobb got a fright with his injury in 2013. Seeing how easily his career could be over he is wanting to make sure he gets every last dollar that he can.

That injury is why the Packers could lose him.

If Cobb leaves, Rodgers will make someone else a lot more money in the future.
