Packers Calendar: Aaron Rodgers on NBC's "The Office"

The Green Bay Packers quarterback will make a guest appearance on the popular sitcom at 8 p.m. CT on most NBC affiliates.

As you probably already heard, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be making a guest appearance on NBC's sitcom The Office this evening.

Tonight's show airs 8 p.m. Central time on most NBC affiliates, but make sure to check your local listings.

In a scene with actor Ed Helms, Rodgers and other guest stars Clay Aiken and Santigold play themselves as a judges in a televised singing competition not unlike American Idol.

If The Office had been waiting to get Rodgers on their show, they got him in just under the wire. Now in its ninth season, this is the penultimate and 186th overall episode of the popular series before next week's finale. Thursday's episode is an hour long, which is unlike the usual half-hour offerings.

Also on Thursday, rookies begin arriving in Green Bay for the Packers' rookie orientation camp held this weekend.

On-field work doesn't begin until tomorrow with practices being held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but past history had the rookies convening in Lambeau Field the evening of arrival as they become indoctrinated into the history of the franchise.

In previous years, head coach Mike McCarthy has shown the rookies videos and had former players as guest speakers.

Veterans generally do not part in this weekend's activities, only the draft choices, undrafted signees, a select number of tryout players and perhaps a few first-year players who saw limited or no game action in their rookie seasons.
