Packers Calendar: 49ers vs. Saints

Lots going on in Green Bay today with NFL playoff action, free autographs at the Packer Pro Shop and a Cheesehead TV tweet-up at the Stadium View tonight.

The Packers have some meetings in the morning but usually finish up by noon and give players the rest of the afternoon off before checking into the team hotel this evening in advance of Sunday's NFL divisional round matchup against the New York Giants at Lambeau Field.

Assuming the Packers win, they'll find out their opponent in the NFC Championship game this afternoon as the 49ers host the Saints in the other side of the NFC playoff bracket. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. Central time, televised on Fox.

Over in the AFC, Tim Tebow leads the Broncos into New England to take on the Patriots. Gametime is at 7:00 p.m. on CBS.

Three Packers alumni will sign free autographs at the Packer Pro Shop at Lambeau Field this afternoon. Tackle Earl Dotson, guard and kicker Jerry Kramer and center Bill Curry will make an appearance from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Central time.

Then this evening, linebacker Brad Jones will be the guest on Inside Lambeau, a television show previewing the upcoming Packers football game airing at 6:30 p.m. on WFRV Channel 5 in Green Bay. Check local times and listings statewide and in the Upper Peninsula.

And don't forget, if you're in town for the game or live in the area, the Cheesehead TV crew will be gathering for a tweet-up this evening at 7 p.m. at the Stadium View in Green Bay to have some drinks, chat Packers and watch the evening's NFL action.

Crystal ball for sale.
Good for the Pack though, rather face Smith than Brees.

Agreed. The 49ers had 5 turnovers in this game, and it still game down to a game-winning drive. The Packers should be able to beat SF if they keep to their turnover-free ways on offense. I was much more afraid of a New Orleans shootout.

Now we just have to hope the Pack will take care of business against the Giants.

The Saints bad Karma from running up the score and padding stats all year came back and bit them. The Football Gods were not amused.

Assuming 8 or 9 hours from now we are looking at SF coming to Lambeau next week, and I expect this will be the case, it will be interesting to see how big a story the Rodgers vs. Smith draft history is.
