Packers Bring Back WR Alex Gillett to Practice Squad

To make room, the Packers released offensive lineman Jordan McCray.

The Green Bay Packers brought back wide receiver Alex Gillett to their practice squad on Tuesday, a day before the week of practice begins in preparation for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Gillett spent the entirety of training camp with the Packers and tied for second on the team with six receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown before being released at the end of camp.

During the 2013 season, Gillett also spent training camp with the Packers and was on the team's practice squad for the last eight games of the regular season plus the playoffs.

In order to make room for Gillett, the Packers released offensive lineman Jordan McCray, who just finished his second stint on the practice squad this season.

Presumably, the Packers must have felt better about the health of Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang than they did a week ago, which prompted the signing of McCray.

Gillett will wear No. 1 with the Packers.

Good! I liked his progress since last season. Good effort guy, plus had the best TD reception of the pre-season.
