Yes we need a bargin undrafted free agent to come in and fix the run defense that’s the Gute way. He overpaid the Smiths last year , probably could have gotten both for less and now he wastes money on a linebacker who hasn’t played in 2 years and a tackle who couldn’t protect Mathew Stafford.

We were 14-4 last year, with a defense that improved from one of the league’s worst to a legit Top Ten defense in quite a few areas. In his two years and two months as GM, Gutekunst has added Smith, Smith, Amos, Savage, Alexander and now Kirskey . That’s SIX STARTERS plus Gary . That’s four FAs and three first round picks who will all be under contract for the remainder of the Rodgers Window.
IMO, that’s a pretty good start. I also expect two more defensive picks in the Top 100 during the draft. I think we should try to save the remainder of our cap money to help resign Clark.

I agree. Gerald McCoy would have looked good in GB. He would have a $4.35M cap number for 2020. I'd love to keep Lane Taylor, but I think since I'd have to choose I'd rather have McCoy.
I know McCoy is 32 but it is essentially a one year deal for $6.35M with $2M dead. 3 yrs/$18M, but just a $3M signing bonus and a $2.5M 2020 base salary are guaranteed. He has a $750K game active roster bonus and $100K workout bonus.
He has no injury history at all. He is stout and has some juice with 5 sacks, 12 QB hits and 7 TFL. The pickings at IDL are getting slimmer and soon Gute will have to find a diamond in the rough/draft someone, or stand on his evaluation of Lowry and Keke.

Yes because of the run defense don’t you get it? Gute did not fix it , how embarrassing To have Jimmy G only throw 9 passes, the plan was hey it’s the Packers let’s just run on them.

We need help on running defense preferably a DT/NT, but we could also get it form a good ILB. Right now the team has only one ILB how has proven capable to be a good player when healty, Burks is a great athlete but not a good fooball player so far anr Burton is a ??. There are some good players specially in the DT positions still available. Davidson, Hankins, Williams (chiefs),Snacks, Shelby Harris, Covington, all very capable against the run, Williams had a bad year because of the injury. As ILB Bynes, Correa, are the top stop runners still available.

If Jalen Reager is still there at 30 and Gute trades back , then the draft will be a bust , Reager will fill the needs of a deep threat and punt returner.

Interesting the thought that geez, we gotta get a replacement for the departed Vitale, which if fans think about it, how often was he thrown to/used. Just because he caught x amount of balls @ Northwestern, doesn't mean thats what he can do @ the NFL level. GB likes Sternberger in multiple ways, have a great blocker in the Big Dog and Tanyan was injured so perhaps he didn't show all he can be. Don't forget they've kept the Athlete Looney around moving him to TE, so he'll supposedly compete. I still see GB getting @ least 2 new WR's.....perhaps both in the draft, maybe one still in FA'cy. let's have a positive attitude GB can land a #2 WR going into next season....shoot, he could currently be on the roster! My guess is they're focusing to get a speedy slot receiver...sounds like T. Gabriel, :)
