One of Clinton-Dix's Closest NFL Comparisons Already Exists on Packers Roster

Thanks to the folks at MockDraftable.com, we can take a look at NFL comparisons to this year's rookie class by taking a look at height/weight and NFL Combine measurables.

One player that Clinton-Dix most closely resembles already exists on the Packers roster: Morgan Burnett.

Perhaps unfortunately, the other names on the list aren't exactly a who's who of premier NFL safeties, but this is merely a comparison of objective measures and not the subjective impact to a team's defense.

He'll actually come in and help Burnett learn how to play Safety, great pick! Who knows, maybe it's Hyde and Clinton Dix at Safety when it's all said and done. Dix has great range and WRAPS UP the ballcarrier, something Burnett knows nothing about.

The Burnett hate is getting a little ridiculous imo. He did have a down year right after a contract and he's certainly hasn't developed into playmaker/ballhawk on the back end. To criticize his tackling though is ridiculous. Burnett has been nothing short of a solid tackler his whole career. I mean the guy had as many stops in the run game as AJ Hawk did last season and fewer missed tackles according to PFF.

At least 4th and 1 doesn't give Cow dislikes, too. I guess 4th and 1 feels that Cow's comments deserve a more active response! LOL

Cow may not have noticed Burnett on the field, but I noticed him. Seemed like he was always looking around trying to see where the H***ll MD or McMillan were. I think Burnett will bounce back and be above average.

@ ARodmoney...... I don't hate Burnett, I just don't like how he tackles much of the time. So many players today just lower the shoulder, go for the kill shot instead of wrapping up and bringing the man down. Burnett is one that likes to use his shoulder. He CAN be a decent tackler, when he wraps the ballcarrier up.

This time of year, you have to remain cautiously optimistic. I'm glad to have Haha on our team and can't wait to see what he does!

HA HA was the only choice to make after the stinkin Steelers and Ravens took Shazier and Mosley. An instant upgrade. Shields, Williams, Hyde, Burnett, and HAHA make a really good secondary. This defense will be vastly improved. Top 10 or better............BOOK IT!

I sure hope Casey Hayward bounces back in a huge way this coming year and demonstrates that he could potentially take over the outside corner spot going forward if needed; that is if T.Williams is allowed to leave in free agency and the team doesn't address the position in the draft or with another veteran free agent next year or with another spectacular gem from the undrafted free agents. This would allow M.Hyde to project as the unchallenged top slot corner on the team and would give the team a backfield of M.Burnett, H.Clinton-Dix, S.Shields, C.Hayward, and M.Hyde in the team's Nickle (most common) defense... not bad except there's a bit of a lack of speed outside of S.Shields, but I think all of these guys can hold their own against the majority of the competition they will face.

If they felt like addressing the CB spot this year I'd be interested in seeing if the Packers see good value in grabbing Phillip Gaines if he's available at one of their selections.
