Nagler's Never Right: NFL 2014 Season Week Four Picks
Aaron's NFL game picks for Week 4 of the regular season.
By PackerAaron
Whooo-hooo! Last week finally saw your humble prognosticator pick more games correctly than incorrectly. It's Miller Time!
And yes, it is beyond pathetic that I'm celebrating a 9-7 record, but hell. Ya gotta start somewhere. I'll take it.
Last Week: 9-7
Season: 23-25
New York Giants vs Washington
The Giants discovered their offense against the Texans. Kirk Cousins and Alfred Morris should roll for Washington. This one ends 24-21 in favor of Eric Cartman’s Washington Redskins.
Buffalo vs Houston
Both teams are smarting after losses last week, both teams need much better play from the quarterback position. Houston gets it and the win.
Panthers vs Ravens
The Panthers looked punch less on offense against the Steelers. The Ravens look like a legit playoff contender. Expect a low-scoring Ravens win.
Green Bay vs Chicago
Both quarterbacks should throw for a bunch of yards. Yes, Rodgers and the Packers’ offense bounces back here, in a major way. Packers get a tough divisional win.
Detroit vs New York Jets
Megatron has missed the last two days of practice, but I tend to think it won’t matter much. Geno’s learning curve is long and he’s good for at least one killer mistake a game. Lions win.
Tennessee vs Indianapolis
Jake Locker’s hold on the starting quarterback job is tenuous at best. Going into Lucas Oil to face the Colts is not a great place for a struggling QB to get things right. Luck and the Colts get the W.
Miami vs Oakland
Miami should win this game, even if Joe Philbin completely screws it up. Which, let’s face it, he probably will. Despite his bumbling ways, the Dolphins beat an improving Oakland team.
Tampa Bay vs Pittsburgh
Tampa can’t possibly look as bad as they did last Thursday night in Atlanta, right? Regardless, they still won’t look good. The Steelers walk away with this one.
Jacksonville vs San Diego
I admit to thinking the Jaguars were going to be a much better team than they’ve shown so far. While it will be interesting to see Blake Bortles get his first professional start, this should be a decisive Chargers victory.
Atlanta vs Minnesota
Another rookie quarterback gets his first start in Teddy Bridgewater. The Vikings actually played some pretty good defense down in New Orleans last week. I think they do again at home against the Falcons. Teddy leads his team to an upset victory in his debut.
Philadelphia vs San Francisco
The Eagles are in some serious trouble up front on offense. The 49ers will take advantage, but with that said, I think this is a great ballgame. The 49ers need to get back to power football. They do here and get it done.
New Orleans vs Dallas
The Cowboys defense looked downright bad without Ronaldo McClain, who has been a revelation. Unfortunately McClain has, as of today, missed five straight practices due to a groin injury. Drew Brees and company will take advantage, and the Saints defense finally starts creating some turnovers in a big Saints win.
New England vs Kansas City
Andy Reid showed what a damn good football coach he is in last week’s win over the Dolphins and I’m expecting him to show us again this week. The Patriots’ offensive line is downright problematic, Gronkowski doesn't’t look at all right, and Brady just looks pedestrian. Alex Smith plays well in an upset win for the home team.
