Morning Practice Notes: Harrell Returns

And in other news, rookie offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse reportedly suffered a concussion.

Defensive lineman Justin Harrell returned to practice on Tuesday one day after leaving practice due to reported heat-related issues.

Although the morning's session focused largely on jog-throughs, Harrell exhibited no obvious effects that he was struggling.

Harrell left nearly halfway through yesterday afternoon's practice and didn't return. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

One of the Packers' defensive players said Harrell told him on the field that he was suffering from fatigue and heat-related symptoms.

Injury report: It was reported yesterday that rookie offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse left yesterday's practice due to heat similar to Justin Harrell, but head coach Mike McCarthy said today that there was more to the story.

Mike Vandermause of the Green Bay Press-Gazette writes on Twitter:

Newhouse suffered concussion. Won't practice tonight.

Atari Bigby, who remains on the Physically Unable to Perform, reportedly is having tests done on his ankle outside of Green Bay.

Vandermause continues:

Bigby seeing doctor in North Carolina. Should know more on his ankle tomorrow.

Al Harris and James Starks remained on the PUP list. Brad Jones continues to sit out after taking a helmet to the back on the first day of training camp back on Saturday. The only new injury was undrafted rookie wide receiver Jeff Moturi, who sat out practice for unspecified reasons.

Linebackers remain: After seeing Brandon Chillar line up at right outside linebacker and Clay Matthews moving over the left side yesterday, things remained the same this morning.

Both Chillar and Matthews continued to hold down the outside linebacker spots with the first-string defense in both the base defense and the nickel.

Additionally, Desmond Bishop continued to work next to Nick Barnett to form the inside linebacking duo in then nickel. However, Barnett sat out of some 11-on-11 team drills and and Bishop lined up next to Hawk.
