Morgan Burnett Officially Ruled Out of Bengals Game

In a move that looked inevitable considering Mike McCarthy's tone throughout the week, Packers safety Morgan Burnett has officially been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Fellow secondary members Casey Hayward and Jarrett Bush also won't be playing, leaving the Packers slightly thin in the defensive backfield, but they went into last week's game against Washington in the same situation.

It eliminates the temptation to put Bush in a defensive play, and Hyde seems like a good replacement on ST.

That was hilarious when they told us Morgan Burnett was questionable for week 1. As if there was any chance he'd be back before the bye. And I'll believe Casey Hayward comes back in week 5 when I see it....

"moo" LOL!

We all already knew we were thin the secondary, no real change here. I just want to see a serviceable pass D; I never expect this group to be a shutdown defense.

Serviceable I think is reasonable. IF we had everyone healthy I think above average.

In this day and age, is "everyone healthy" a reasonable expectation? I don't know.

Also, the offense loves to no huddle. Doesn't this approach automatically harm the defense? Less time of possession, less time for defense to rest, more time on the field? I would think a defense that has to defend 60 plays gives up less yards and points than a D that has to defend 80+.

Of course forcing a bunch of 3 and outs would help a defense to help itself.
