#MockThree Starts Monday

Brian Carriveau will represent the Green Bay Packers in the #MockThree mock draft event on Twitter.

I'm pleased to announce I've been asked to represent the Green Bay Packers in the mock draft event #MockThree that begins tomorrow.

#MockThree is an entire seven-round mock draft on Twitter spanning several days with writers and bloggers used to represent the teams they cover. You can keep up with the proceedings just by following the hashtags #MockThree.

I'll be playing the part of Packers general manager Ted Thompson, and I'll be joined by Zach Kruse (@zachkruse2) of AllGreenBayPackers.com and Paramveer Singh (@Got_Next) who represented the Packers in the inaugural #MockOne event, so make sure to follow them on Twitter as well.

Our objective is to emulate what the Packers will do in the draft, so we'll be generally be following the Best Player Available philosophy.

The purpose of #MockThree is to have fun. There's no doubt we're not going to be 100% accurate, but that's not the point. Hopefully it will stir up a little more interest in the upcoming draft and give fans a rough idea of when players will come off the board.

At the conclusion of the event esteemed draft analysts Wes Bunting of the National Football Post, Sigmund Bloom of FootballGuys.com and Shane Hallam of DraftCountdown.com will be grading our mock draft.

By all means, I could use your input. Feel free to send advice my way on Twitter (@BrianCarriveau) on who the Packers should select.

I'll be making blog posts giving some rationale on who we select, so look forward to those updates on Cheesehead TV over the next several days.

The event begins tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. Lambeau time.

Brian,
Congrats...I don't tweet (I do chirp alot)... so I'll ask some Q's here:
---Is trading done in this mock?
---Can you tell us who you're targeting at 32, 64, etc. or don't you want your comp to have any idea?
---To get into the role of TT, are you going to wear Kabuki face paint and talk in monotones?

One piece of advice; when in doubt, take the playmaker.

Brian, when in doubt, think next year's FAs and aging veterans. TT is a BPA guy, but coincidentaly almost all of TT's 1st picks were positions where, in a year after the selection, there was a perceived need due to a player leaving via FA, being traded or released because of age.

If there isn't a clear value pick in there, I would aim towards an OT, WR or CB.

Ted usually trades back, and then picks someone I haven't really heard much of... so just look at a list of players and pick one that you don't really know much about after trading back....

In all seriousness, probably pick a list of names you want, and do a lot of trading up/back to get them. It will probably be close to reality even if you don't have the same name of players as Ted, and it will probably be more fun looking for trade partners in this anyway.

M Ingram = 1
D Watkins = 1
M Leshoure = 1
M Austin = 2
D Sherrod = 2
