Mayock Is Your Man

Packer fans will read a whole lot of swill over the course of the next two months regarding the draft and who the Packers may or may not be targeting. Well, I'm here to tell you one immutable truth: Mike Mayock is the only draft guru you need to pay attention to.

Mayock came to the NFL Network in 2005 and quickly established himself as the main competition for ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. He then proceeded to blow Kiper and all others out of the water. I mean, it's not even close. Now, his opinion is the only one I give any credence to this time of year.

Tom Pelissero has a fantastic breakdown of a recent pre-combine conference call with reporters that Mayock partook in. Lots of food for thought for die-hard Packer fans during the second worst time of year. (The worst being mid-June when all OTAs and mini-camps are done and there is a month and a half until training camp)

Definetely will follow Mayock this year. Thanks for the tip.

Looks like defensive possibilities will be better for the Packers than the O-Line. The good prospect will be gone by #9 and Monroe and A. Smith have weaknesses that would probably limit their immediate participation. Best to go FA here. It will be very improtant that any defensive FA's be identified before the draft.

RB's, WR's, QB's and TE's look very ordinary and the stars will be gone early.

Go for Defense early and often.

Agreed. I have purposely avoided the four-letter for several seasons because of Mel Kiper, and the constant ego push. The only issue now, is getting my Cable-provider to offer the NFL Network (for free). Still, it's a good heads up. Thanks!

I would love it if Orakpo or Curry were there at #9 but I don't think that will happen. I'm seeing CBs being there tho and I wonder if that's where TT will go
