Lions, Jets Reportedly Interested in WR James Jones
James Jones draws interest from other teams.
I'm told wide out James Jones receiving heavy interest from the Detroit Lions & New York Jets...Green Bay Packers may still be in the mix..

James Jones last tested the free agency market in 2011, but ended up back with the Packers. It appears this time around, Jones might have more suitors.
Teams can officially sign players after 3:00 p.m. Central Time Tuesday.

Jones might be a stretch to re-sign. He was a heck of a receiver the last two years after he fixed his case of the dropsies. Hope him the best, doubt it will be with the Pack.

Jones is "just a guy". He can't be replaced by any schmoe off the street but he's not all that hard to replace. If he goes, I'd like to see them add someone to fill out the 4 WR looks but Nelson, Cobb and Boykin are fine for a top 3.
Aside from the big TD year in '12, his numbers are nothing all that significant. Career avg (7 years): 43 catches, 615 yards, 5 TDs.
Thanks, James. Good luck with your career.

I like Jones, I would like him back. But I don't see him coming back.
He is a very good #2 or 3 WR. I hope he doesn't go to Detroit. But that would make sense for him.
I have also heard that the Giants are interested in him.

I hope he gets what he wants. I thought he slowed down towards the middle of the season but that's just my observation. Some said he had a calf issue but who knows.

He battled a knee sprain for most of the 2nd half. And he broke 2 ribs against the Steelers.

I'd like to keep JJ but my priority would be on retaining Quarless and getting another WR and TE in the draft.Boykin can hold JJ's spot

I like JJ, of coarse you guy's all know that. I'd like to see him in the Green & Gold again. Can't remember the last Packer I felt this way about. Maybe Robert Brooks??

In all Honesty, I was a Big DON MAJAKOWSKI fan, & still am. Don't think he ever got the credit he deserved.

I think it's official: The lions plan on fielding a roster of 52 WR and Stafford. Watching the NFL network, it sounds as if they are pursuing every WR in the league!
