Jordy Nelson On NFL Network

Earlier this afternoon, Packers wide receiver spoke with Fran Charles of NFL Network to talk about a variety of Packers topics.

Earlier this afternoon, Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson appeared on NFL Network to talk about Aaron Rodgers as well as the upcoming game against the Vikings.

You can watch the clip here and find a transcript below:

On being the only player in NFL history to have a touchdown of 80-yards or longer in an eight-game span:

“We’ve been fortunate with some plays. Someone gave me that stat the other day, and like you said they have crazy stats for everything.”

On where the offensive efficiency comes from:

“I think experience. This is a group that has been together for awhile now. Obviously this is Aaron’s fourth year as a starter; myself and the other three – [Randall] Cobb obviously is the new one – but we’ve all been together since he’s been a starter. We’ve put in a lot of time in between OTAs, IPWs, training camps and seasons that we’ve continued to grind and get on the same page. Once we get in a rhythm, we’re tough to stop.”

On the selfishness of the wide receivers group:

“Like you said it’s unselfish. We talk about it in our room all the time with the receivers that you have to make the most of your opportunities; you don’t ever know what game it’ll be, what play it’ll be, but if you get a ball thrown your direction catch it and make a play for the team, and make the most of it because it might be the only one you end up getting for the day. Or you might end up getting six. Make the most of every opportunity you get and go make a play.”

On what he sees from the Vikings defense:

“It’s a lot of similar guys that we’ve faced the last few years. They still have the pass rush with Jared Allen and Brian Robison on the other side; they have a lot of the same defensive backs with Cedric Griffin back who’s been battling knee injuries the last couple of years. I think they’re still going to be coming after us. They play different when they get inside the dome on the fast track and the crowd noise and everything. They’re going to be physical and we just have to be ready to match everything they do.”

On if wide receivers drop passes:

“Yes. That’s kind of what we do as receivers. We started that this year just the receivers. If an unfortunate event happens and you don’t catch a ball, you owe some other people gift cards and it goes around the room. Try to keep the focus there and the mindset of making every play.”

Sitton did a correspondence piece from the GBP locker room today on Rome as well. Had Wood, Clay and Rodgers (decked out in USC gear from a lost bet to Clay). Good piece... don't call Woodson Chuck, I have, will never again.
