Johnny Jolly's Season Reportedly Ended by Neck Injury
Johnny Jolly's amazing come back story appears to be over, for this year at least.
Per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel,
"According to a source familiar with the injury, Jolly has a bulging disc at the C-5 vertebra, and the medical staff is waiting for the swelling to go down before making an assessment on whether surgery will be necessary."
If it was determined that Jolly would need surgery it wouldn't necessarily be career ending. He is only signed through this season, so the Packers would need to re-sign him in the off season if they wanted to bring him back next year.
Packers defensive lineman, Ryan Pickett said of Jolly,
"We believe he'll bounce back. If anyone can fight through anything, it's Jolly. His spirits are good. He's been a leader out there. He's been playing great. He's been a whole lot. We're going to miss him out there for sure."
Jolly ends the season with 21 combined tackles and 1 sack.

This is scary, sounds like Chmura's injury. I thought his was herniated C5, if I recall.

C5 and C6, I believe.

Herniated is much worse. Hopefully it is just bulging. Bulging to a certain extent is a normal part of the aging of a disk.

Rough. Thoughts go out to #97.
I am excited by the little bit I've seen from Josh Boyd. Go Pack Go.

Wish him the best. Unfortunately these injuries are easily recurring unless one changes their habits. I know from experience.

The neck. Makes regular Joe's out of football players. See Nick Collins, Sterling Sharpe, J. Finley. Man we lost some great talent due to neck injuries.
