Injury Update at Packers Training Camp: Who's Returning? Who's Dropping Out?

Wide receiver Jared Abbrederis and center Corey Linsley missed practice on Friday.

Neither of the Green Bay Packers' fifth round draft choices practiced on Friday, the day before the annual Family Night event at Lambeau Field.

Returning to Practice

Safety Morgan Burnett, ankle

After dropping out midway through Wednesday's practice and sitting out the entirety of Thursday's session, Burnett returned in pads for Friday's practice. Missing only a day and a half of practice is hardly a blow to Burnett's preparations for the 2014 season, and he was reportedly inserted right back into the first-string defense upon his return. Micah Hyde and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had been getting increased repetitions with the starters with Burnett out, but the Packers don't appear to be ready to hand them a starting job just yet.

Dropping Out of Practice

Wide receiver Jared Abbrederis, knee

Head coach Mike McCarthy acknowledged Abbrederis had a knee injury on Friday but declined to elaborate, saying that he had yet to meet with the medical staff. Asked specifically whether Abbrederis had a torn ACL, McCarthy stood on his previous comments, saying he has yet to get a full report. McCarthy also couldn't say whether Abbrederis would be able to participate in Family Night. Obviously, missing practice is not desirable, but until more information is known, it would be unfair to speculate further about the injury to Abbrederis.

Center Corey Linsley, shoulder

McCarthy shared the same sentiments on Linsley as Abbrederis, not knowing the extent of his injury or whether he'd be available for Family Night. Linsley had been functioning as the second-string center on the team's offensive line, and any missed time won't be helping in his battle with J.C. Tretter to become the starter at the position.

Still Out (anticipated return in parentheses)

Defensive lineman Jerel Worthy, lower back (indefinitely)

Defensive lineman Letroy Guion, hamstring (indefinitely)

Wide receiver Jeff Janis, illness (day to day)

Safety Tanner Miller, ankle (indefinitely)
