Hayward Could Be Out Until Start of Training Camp With Foot Injury
Not exactly how the fourth year vet wanted to start his contract year.
By PackerAaron
Casey Hayward was notable by his absence from the field this afternoon, sitting out the entirety of the Packers' practice today.
After practice, Hayward revealed he's dealing with a foot injury, and while Hayward labeled it "a little minor foot thing," the injury sounds like it will keep the fourth year veteran out of commission until at least the start of training camp, if not beyond.
From Wes over at PackersNews.com:
Not wanting to aggravate the injury, the 5-foot-11, 192-pound cornerback isn't rushing anything.
"Take it easy until camp right now," Hayward said. "We have a little minor foot thing right now. We'll probably take it into camp."
Hayward's injury, coupled with Damarious Randall dealing with an injury of his own (to his ankle), meant that second year corner Demetri Goodson got the reps with the #1s during team drills.
As most Packers fans know, this is a critical year for Hayward. Not only is there a starting spot up for grabs, but the veteran is entering a contract year having already lost nearly a whole season to a pesky hamstring injury.
With plenty of work to be done, Hayward can not afford much time on the sideline. Of course, he and the team need to be smart with the injury, but here's hoping we see him back on the field at the start of camp and not too much longer after that.

Is it my imagination or does every non participant list always begin with Neal, Perry and now Hayward?

It's concerning but if he's ready for TC that's what will matter the most. Randell won't be there until after graduation so I hope Rollins is a quick study. Goodson worries me after watching him try and cover WR last year during preseason, I'm not sure he even makes the team this year.

Seems to be another one of those guys with loads of talent but can't stay healthy. We've seen a lot of them. I think eventually Rollins will be starting anyways.

Another reason Ted got him, 431 other teams did there homework and passed on this guy. Just like Zombo, small school guy oft injured in college and the NFL as well.
The experts said the packers draft rated 28 out of 31 teams this year.

1. Are there really 431 other teams?
2. Any "expert" who evaluates a draft immediately afterwards is not an "expert".

Perry, Datone and Worthy were my three 'bust kateers" until Worthy got sent packing and he only went after three years. Paid him for nothing and thats what we got out of him nothing.
Analyst said Worthy went missing in games and in case went missing in seasons.
Ted is not the genius people give him credit for. Look at all the losers we end up with.

How Hayward gets injured during offseason makes you wonder. Not counting on him at all.
