If anything, Packer Fans have taken AR12 for granted.

So did the FO!

Expecting AR12 to put the team on his back every season and win Super Bowls is unrealistic.

The one year we won the Super Bowl it was a team effort and defense wasn't total crap.

Very true. If I were Rodgers, I would have asked for a trade a long time ago. During so many years of Capers' horrible defenses and then McCarthy's stale offense 12 carried the team on his back.

With the exception of those little games, called the NFC championship. His back must've been tired from winning all those regular season MVPs?

I loved Rodgers as our QB but while that is all true it's equally true that there were at least 4 or 5 winnable games that he could have made the difference and let his ego get in the way. Of Winning! Squandering opportunities. Just like Favre in 2007 that was the last straw!. I hate losing but I hate it more when it's there for the taking and selfish play takes over.

the Packers front office has taken Aaron Rodgers for granted, no number 1 receiver picks or free agent star receiver, no top 5 defense since the super bowl victory, they thought it was enough just having him at QB , screw the salary cap there's always a way around it so that's not a valid excuse," Hello darkness my old friend, I'll decide if and where I'm playing again" .

The FO basically did the same thing to Favre.

I can't understand why history is repeating itself?

Keep trying the same things over and over.

Yeah imagine if they traded Rodgers for Randy Moss in 2007 like all the fanboys wanted. GM's are damned in they do and damned if they dont.

I dont think hes taken the fans for granted per se. But I do think he has taken his position as quarterback of the Green Bay Packers for granted. Things like being a leader, being a role model for the youth, etc just dont seem to be a priority to him. He does the minimum and nothing more. To me, he has the best job on the planet and I dont say that lightly. But judging by his perpetually pouty mug on the field and generally indifferent behavior, one could easily be led to believe he doesnt love his job. Almost like he sees it more as a chore that he has to do rather than something he wants to do. Its a shame.

Did you just compare him to Jay Cutler? Now there's a scary thought!

I can't speak for others, but I don't think he has taken me (a fan of the Packers) for granted. Sometimes, when I have low energy days, I feel #12 thinks of me as much as the middle of the field...I feel non-existent.

It's like two of my old girlfriends from the past (girlfriend #1 Packers) and (girlfriend #2 Rodgers) don't think of me when making future decisions. Neither look over their shoulder to catch one last glimpse of me...?

It hurts, I ain't gonna lie. I know I gained weight, lost hair and my hygiene has taken a hit, maybe I am not as good as I used to be...maybe. I still love both of you. Why aren't either of you wanting me back? Why aren't you fighting for my Love???

"Has Aaron Rodgers taken Packers fans for granted?"

IDK, I think it's more of a beautiful mystery that will be revealed via a darkness retreat. I'd have gone for the saltwater floaty isolation tank myself as that sounds a lot more relaxing than just sitting in a dark room but I get that over 4 days one might get a little pruny.

Rumor has it (not true) that Greg Jennings is hiding in the Dark Room so #12 and him can make up.

I would have just went to a Chuck E Cheese and melted over the sensory overload.

Hang in there Rare, you and your Pops...better days ahead for the Green N Gold. I am waiting for clarity... similar to my adolescent face waiting to clear up before the Prom festivities kick into full gear!!!

Lol, we're good. Looking forward to the super bowl this weekend and then the upcoming draft. Last season is already in the rear view mirror and what Aaron Rodgers does in the offseason is his business as far as I'm concerned. Fun to comment on once in awhile though :D

I agree that 12 has earned the right to decide his future on his schedule. However there are many of his “teammates “ that’s future rests on 12s decision. Will they be cut, traded or resigned? Is this fair to all of them and their families?
It’s impossible for me to believe 12 doesn’t know the answer now. This isn’t a decision you just wake up one morning and make. Even after 4 nights in the bat cave.

Perhaps these players should make themselves better and important enough to the team than to Rodgers for their futures. Make your own mark, and stop riding the coattails of another. Though, this has become a huge societal issue/problem as it becomes a must to live off the success/ability/talent of another and scream how much you dislike how they do what pays your bills.

I seriously doubt many Packer players are that worried about what Rodgers decides to do..they have their own careers...some of them, like his good friends probably are in constant contact and already know what his future will hold....

I think you’re missing the point. I’m not talking about riding coattails. Maybe you’re talking about Cobb, Lewis, Crosby ant Tonyan? You probably have a point there. I’m thinking more on the lines of Aaron Jones, Yosh, Nixon, Amos who won’t know their fate until The Packers know how much money they have to spend.

Are they good enough to get signed by another team or not? If not, that's their problem. If not, and GB keeps signing them because of Rodgers, that's a huge issue for the FO, and a legit issue for fans.

But nobody says shit about all the other FA’s every year that look after themselves. I respect your comment but vehemently disagree. You can’t hold 12 to a standard you don’t hold every single paler to. He doesn’t owe anyone anything.

It seems to me that Rodgers has taken the fans for granted, as well as his teammates, although perhaps because of troubles from within.
It's hard to think of anything, or anyone, else when we're in pain.
***
If offer these words from an amazing song to him before his planned retreat into darkness, which I hope he'll abandon for a retreat in the light.
In any case:
"When the night has been too lonely,
and the road has been to long;
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong.
Just remember in the winter,
far beneath the bitter snows;
lies the seed, that with the sun's [Son's] love,
in the spring, becomes the rose."

I have heard Rodgers thank, compliment, give credit to and generally 'love on' Packer fans time and time again. He had some business to take care of between a rock and a hard place. And, what did he give us for that? ?An MVP season...or three.
Aaron Nagler, me thinks ye protesteth too much. Are ya maybe just a little starved for material? Are you getting just big enough where you have to feed the beast? LoL.

Once Upon A Time, when I was kind of young, I did something that gave me some notoriety in the small burg I grew up in. At first, it was cool, but then it was kind of an annoyance , and after a while and I just wanted to be left alone. I got tired of people I didn't know coming up to me going ...."Are you the guy that.....?"

I can't imagine what it would be like to be a multimillionaire athlete who is just constantly adored by legions of fans. I think after a while you'd just become kind of numb to it and even kind of resent it, in a way, because it becomes a part of your life that you don't really care for.

I look at Rodgers and I see a 40 year old man, with more money than he'll ever spend, who is famous. But he hasn't been able to forge a relationship with a partner, he's estranged from his family, and a considerable portion of his fan base wishes he'd just move on.

My life....my real life....was only beginning around that time. Kids, career, etc. He's already done the most fantastic thing he's ever going to do. Must be tough.

Taken for granted? Anyone begrudging 12 has never been a pro athlete. Never been a business owner. Never been highly successful at much. Does anyone have any clue what it was like for him under TT? Anyone know what it was like to play through the injuries in multiple years, including this one, that he has? You can be a fan of the packers and still understand the business this is and be a fan of the players that play it. He has taken NOTHING for granted. He did everything he’s supposed to do. We didn’t support him enough when it was financially feasible to do so and now we’ve kept him too long when it wasn’t. He’s been loyal throughout. He wasn’t born in GB. Grow up. He wanted to retire a packer-said so a LOT of times, but likely won’t. Because it’s a business. He’s a Mt. Rushmore packer. That’s good enough.

He is not a Packer. He is a player and he is a Packer because no other team drafted him and the Packers took the opportunity. I am a Packer fan and I do not get paid to be a Packer fan. He gets paid to play for the organization. Do you really think he will care about the Packers after he leaves. Maybe for about 5 minutes. Yes this is a business and he knows it and he plays the fan game very well. Packer fans are gullible enough to believe his stories. Why do you think he does not and has not had a good relationship with his family? Why do you think he cannot keep a girlfriend? He is a self centered narcissist. Yes I do not have to put self centered there but it was done because he is double.

The real problem is that Gute and MLF give him what he wants because they do not want him to throw a tantrum. When he asked for a trade on the first day of the draft that was done on purpose. Gute should have responded with you are under contract as a QB and that is what we expect you to be. Last year they should have not extended his contract. Yes it save cap money but at what cost. Last year we finished under 500 with an over paid spoiled brat QB that now we will not be able to trade. We should have traded him last year and if there was no interest then we should not have extended his contract.

Main point is the Packers need to clean house from Gute on down. I believe we need to get rid of Murphy too but that will not happen.
