Grant Suffers Laceration to Knee, Expected to Play

Running back Ryan Grant required stitches to his knee, but he should be able to play against Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Running back Ryan Grant was a surprise n0-show for Wednesday's practice, the first of the week for the Packers as they prepare for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

According to news coming from a series of tweets via the Packers' official Twitter account, Grant sustained a laceration to his need, which required stitches. Head coach Mike McCarthy reportedly said he should be able to be okay to play on Sunday.

In other news, both linebacker Desmond Bishop and T.J. Lang missed today's practice for non-injury reasons.

Bishop informed his followers on Twitter that his grandmother passed away, and it can safely be presumed he is traveling to attend the funeral. Lang also tweeted about a family matter involving his father yesterday but was not more specific.

McCarthy left the door open to defensive lineman Mike Neal playing on Sunday, saying he participated in team drills today but would have to see how he progressed throughout the week.

Offensive lineman Chad Clifton was also officially ruled out of this week's game. Linebacker Frank Zombo didn't practice today either.

Dude, your name came up today. A Colleague (I say Colleague to feel important) of mine was talking about how he was going over to Montana for Thanksgiving and he was probably gonna get a hotey in Sandpoint to stay for a night on the way... I thought and thought... "Doug in Sandpoint" I said. He looked at me all weird, so I kinda told him you were a Packer freak too...

Great story. Eh?

And yes, bummer about Gregg.

He also told me about a town on the way called "Athole"... don't know about spelling, but that's how it's pronounced according to him. I asked him to send me a pic of the sign...

I should be from there.

Yeth, Athol is a real plath jutht thouth of here.

It is a constant source of amusement and the butt of quite a few jokes (so to speak). Tell your buddy that Sandpoint was the home of almost-HOFer Jerry Kramer. Hope he likes it here.
