Forbes: Packers 12th in Franchise Value; Rodgers Second Highest Paid Player

The Green Bay Packers are in the top half of the NFL in franchise value, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers is among the league's highest paid players in 2013, according to Forbes magazine.

The Packers came in 12th in the rankings with a total value of $1.183 billion, up from Forbes' estimate of $1.16 billion last month. Also, the team saw a two percent increase in both value and value in terms of debt over the last year.

The Dallas Cowboys paced the overall list at $2.3 billion.

The Packers used a portion of their $282 million in revenue to fund a new, record-setting extension for their franchise quarterback.

Rodgers, who will make $43 million in total salary and another $6 million in endorsements in 2013, finished second on the highest-paid players list to New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who will bring in $51 million. Rodgers signed a five-year, $110 million extension with Green Bay in April.

I respectfully submit that one simply cannot put a value on the power of cheese.
