For First Time This Season, Aikman & Buck Will Not Call Packers Game

With the first three games of the Green Bay Packers' 2013 season all being called by Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on Fox, the NFL broadcaster finally breaks trend this upcoming weekend.

Kenny Albert will do play by play and Daryl Johnston will have color commentary when the Packers host the Detroit Lions on Sunday Oct. 6 at noon CT.

Tony Siragusa will be the sideline reporter.

There is a god. I want to rip off Aikman's arms and beat Joe Buck with them.

Amen! I usually mute the volume and use 620 WTMJ for audio - the audio sync issues not withstanding. Aikman provides zero value to the coverage. They may as well have a bone-headed Vikings fan in there with Buck.

This is always a must do at my house. Using Sirius radio along with the Directv NFL ticket feed allows me to pause the tv to synch up with radio. I'll never listen to another national broadcast.

So nice to know that Aikman won't be spending the game bragging how good whatever team the Packers are facing. I hate listening to bias commentary.

I noticed that he alwasy does that until AR goes off and posts another game full of ridiculous numbers. Then all of a sudden he "really likes where this team is going".

Fox replaces one member of the 1990s Cowboys with another member of 1990s Cowboys. Ha!

FYI I'll take Johnston over Aikman's spin anyday.

I don't care one way or the other. At my place we provide our own color(ful) commentary and don't really listen to the announcers anyway.

We do too. Of course at some point that commentary usually involves somebody asking if those two are sleeping with each other.

Maybe a couple weeks of:
Meyers/Ryan
will make you understand the many differences between the number one crew and number seven.

There could come the day...heaven forbid.

I dont get the Aikman thing. He seems to call games fairly well. I dont really hear the bias against the Packers. He has to talk up both teams.

He certainly is bad, but I'd rather hear him than Collinsworth.
