IMO, he deservers to be Rookie of the year. What other rookie has changed an offense or defense the way Lacy has for the Packers?
For the last however many years the Packers have been average rushing at best. Teams didn't respect the run at all by running cover 2 primarily against them. Now teams are respecting the run. They are playing a lot more single safety.
He has changed the whole look of the offense. That to me is rookie of the year material.

AR and the rest of Packer Nation realize what Lacy means to this team, lets hope the NFL does too.

People seem to think that Gio Bernard is Lacy's biggest competition for OROY - but I don't see it. There isn't a single category where Bernard is better.

Lacy
112 carries, 446 yards, 4 YPC, 3 TDs

Bernard
72 carries, 282 yards, 3.9 YPC, 2 TDs

Of course a lot can change between now and the end of the season, but to me Lacy should clearly be the front runner.

Plus lacy is a starter. Whike the latter fights for carries. Imo lacy will be the best back of the past three draft

EDIT: Ugh. I forgot receiving stats.

Bernard
26 rec, 242 yards, 2 TDS

Lacy
12 rec, 78 yards, 0 TDs

Look at that, they both have exactly 524 total yards.

Possibly. But yards are yards, regardless of how they're gained.

But the two are a lot closer than I initially thought - and by no means should Bernard be the prohibitive favorite.

Rushing yards are always looked at in higher regard than passing yards for backs. Lacy is clearly the top back and will win the Rookie of the Year as long as he doesn't get hurt.

Lacy could catch a ton of balls too but the Packers don't throw much to the backs though maybe they should.
