Clay Matthews Picked First Among Four Packers Players in Pro Bowl Draft

Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews was the first of four members of the Green Bay Packers selected in Wednesday's Pro Bowl Draft held at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix.

Matthews was selected by Team Irvin, captained by NFL alum and former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin, but not until the 26th overall selection.

Wide receiver Jordy Nelson was selected three picks later (29th overall) by Team Carter, captained by former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Cris Carter, filling the team's quota at the position.

At that point, fellow wide receiver Randall Cobb was assigned to Team Irvin, along with Golden Tate of the Detroit Lions and Emmanuel Sanders of the Denver Broncos.

Cornerback Sam Shields was the final Packers player selected (35th overall) by Team Carter.

Nelson and Shields will be joined by fullback John Kuhn and guard Josh Sitton, who were among the pre-draft selections taken on Tuesday evening.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers pulled out of the Pro Bowl due to the calf injury he's been dealing with since late December.
