Clay Matthews Is Only Packer To Make First-Team All-Pro
Despite being a Super Bowl team, outside linebacker Clay Matthews was the only member of the Packers to be named first-team All-Pro.
Despite being NFC Champions and qualifying for the Super Bowl, outside linebacker Clay Matthews was the only member of the Green Bay Packers to be named an Associated Press first-team All-Pro.
Unlike the Pro Bowl, which is split up into separate squads for the AFC and the NFC, there is only one All-Pro team, which many consider to be an even more prestigious honor than the Pro Bowl.
The All-Pro team is voted upon by members of the media, whereas the Pro Bowl teams is voted upon 1/3 by fans, 1/3 by players and 1/3 by coaches.
Cornerback Charles Woodson and safety Nick Collins were named second-team All-Pro.
The entire roster can be found here.

Horse. Shit.
Tramon was better than Nnamdi or Darrelle.
And Jennings not even getting 2nd team is the biggest joke I've ever seen.

I agree. Worthless.
Tramon Williams should have gotten AT LEAST 2nd team.
They're saying he's not even better than Devin McCourty? Really?
It's all about the big names.

I wonder when these were voted on. Because you have to believe that if the votes were held now (or any time in the last 2-3 weeks), there would be a lot more Packers on the roster - Tramon, Raji, Rodgers to name a few.

Tell you what...I'd take Greg Jennings over Reggie Wayne at this point in their careers. Wayne isn't nearly as productive as his numbers might indicate.

1/3 coaches + 1/3 fans + 1/3 players = nearly 100% dumb.

Unfortunately, this one was all from the media.
Can't even blame it on the fans.

Packers win the SB and a bunch of guys will make it next year even if they don't have stellar years just because of name recognition.

More proof that you have to be partially numb the prefrontal cortex to work in mainstream sports media!
Who cares anyway..they don't give out rings for the ALL-PRO Team

How does Darren Sharper keep showing up on these elite lists? He can't make an open field tackle if his life depended on it.

Someone on twitter asked Aaron if the Packers win the Super Bowl, which player(s), if any, are likely to retire.
I think a more fun question to speculate about is if the Packers win the Super Bowl, which would-be free agent will have a huge game and get a crazy free agent contract.
James Jones seems like a likely candidate for that.

T-E-A-M. We don't need no stickin' All-Pros. We're bringing Lombardi home.

Love that comment.

BTW, doesn't Vonta Leach still count for the Pack?

I looked at that and tought Kuhn probably out stat-ed him and should have been considered. Remember when an oversized halfback like Alstott go the FB prizes every year because they listed him as a FB?

Next year Raji, Williams, Rodgers and Jennings will join Clay on the All-Pro 1st team. Book it.
January 25, 2011 at 05:48 am
Dont book it without Finley at TE. YOTTO

Sharper started one game this year and had 16 tackles.
