Brett Favre Officially Voted Into Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Brett Favre was officially voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame tonight here in San Francisco.

From the NFL:

Favre won the MVP award in three consecutive seasons from 1995 to 1997 and had a peak of his career that rivals any quarterback to ever play the game. His day in Canton was delayed a few seasons by coming out of retirement and finishing out his career with the Minnesota Vikings, a team he nearly took to the Super Bowl in the 2009 season. His arm strength, willingness to make difficult throws, and ability to play through any injury at a high level helped define a singular career. He finished his 20 seasons as the league's all-time leading passer in completions, yards, passing touchdowns, and wins at quarterback.

Probably my favorite note from inside the voting room is that it took them six seconds of discussion to agree on Favre.

Also voted in to the 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame class was former Packers assistant coach Kevin Greene

Congrats to Brett Favre for his induction into the 2016 NFL Hall of Fame Class. 6 seconds seems about the right amount of time to vote Favre in. Ron Wolf last year, Reggie White years before, and now Favre, the 3 people along with Mike Holmgren most responsible for turning the Packers back into the Greastest Sports Franchise in any sport.

Congratulations to Brett Favre on his Hall of Fame career. He gave us everything he had. He is an all-time great QB, maybe the greatest cold weather QB, ever, a great player and a great Packer. He lead the Packers back to NFL glory and respect. Thanks, Since '61

Well said. The only thing I wish, is that I could erase his last game, seeing him bundled up, turtleneck and all and Eli Manning in basically a t shirt still irks me. As for Vikings I have ignored that even happened.

Hell of a football player, and played the game like a kid. Too bad he acted like a child in all other realms of life too.

I'm actually a bit surprised that I couldn't give a damn about Favre's induction into the pro football HOF.

It's not that he doesn't deserve the honor; he does.

I think it might be that it was such a foregone conclusion that the actual event transpiring didn't even make me bat an eye.

I think it might also be that I wonder if deep down inside, Favre doesn't really care about the Packers, or Packers fans. I wonder if he only considers himself, and the Favre fans.

At any rate, the HOF announcement did not get my juices flowing in the least.

Perfectly said Oppy! I actually couldn't care less either. What got my juices flowing was seeing Bart Starr when they introduced the SB MVPs. Favre I really couldn't care less about. And I noticed, neither do I care much about Rodgers anymore. But that's just me.

I don't get the 80% discussion. Anyone in the room who doesn't think he was deserving should not be allowed to vote, they don't know football greatness.
